  1. Hi

I am a local mum looking to earn a little bit of extra money by working from home for a few hours a week. I wondered if there were any local businesses that were needing any administrative work? I am degree educated and for 10 years I worked as a marketing manager for a big retailer. I am very hard working and efficient.

Please get in touch if you think you might need anything.

    Best wishes

    Jane

  2. I think the reality is most of the schools change catchment year on year so it?s difficult to predict years in advance. Also there can be lots of movement not only on waiting lists but in year places too so some years they might have a tiny catchment for 1st offer places but end up going to waiting list if kids pull out or end up going private / moving and the distance can end up being quite far. So the listed catchment area is not always a true reflection on what ends up being true once term has started.
  3. Hi

I feel compelled to post this as if I was the mother of this child I would be horrified. This afternoon (Friday) I was in St Christopher?s on lordship lane and I witnessed a child in a buggy being hit repeatedly (thumped with a hand) a number of times. The child was strapped in to a bugaboo cream cameleon buggy and the childminder or nanny was busy perusing the shop. She left the buggy with the child in it a few metres away while she looked at clothes - but the child accidentally knocked over some books from a nearby bookshelf. Something very easily done, and seeing as the child was being ignored I am not surprised. It was not a big deal - but the lady who was looking after the child screamed at him ?I have told you not to do that? and then whacked him across the upper arm and chest.

I do not want to give out any further information on the description of the lady or the boy, but if you are a concerned mother drop me a line as I do have a photo.

  4. Hi this is a long shot but I dropped ?50 on the way to school this morning - walking along Oakhurst grove, past goose green, up Crystal Palace road and down north cross and along fellbrigg

    2x 20s and 1 x10

I don?t suppose any one picked it up and could return it - no questions asked?!

  5. Hi my son will be starting school in September in reception but I wanted to seek out some opinion on booking holidays in term time, what are local Southwark East Dulwich schools view on this? Is it something that isn?t ideal but accept that an odd holiday is ok? Or is it really frowned upon?

As my son is only in reception I figured we might have another year before it gets more serious - and we would probably stick to school holidays.

Really wondering what other parents did and how accepted it is?

  6. Happily recommending Darren from D.Long Roofing.

Just had my gutters thoroughly cleared and cleaned by Darrren at D Long roofing. He deals in all aspects of roofing, for me I have a number of pigeons on my roof blocking my gutters with nests and soil.

He is very polite, punctual and straightforward, nothing was too much trouble, and did the job very quickly. He was able to sufficiently remove all the waste and clear away the grass nests.

    thank you!

  9. We would also be happy to recommend Plus rooms as a contractor for a side return kitchen extension. Our extension was built during the summer and we are thoroughly happy with the end result. They managed the whole process from design and architect, taking it to planning and overseeing that process, and helping us to manage party wall agreements. In to the build we were assigned a project manager who worked closely with the builders to ensure certain tasks were achieved each week; which ended in a very quick build to first fix, approximately 11 weeks. We built a 40sqm room so we were very happy with the efficiency, quality and cost of the build. We also lived in during the build and I have to say we were very impressed with their work ethic (turned up every day 8am, and often not leaving before 6pm every day). They also built a temporary kitchen for us which worked well. I have a 18 month old who adapted very well to the process, as we were basically there every day.
