  1. we bought a second hand bugaboo bee 3, looks to be in really good condition but wanted to ask some other owners- when it is in parent facing mode the bottom part of the seat doesn't lock (where baby's bum/legs would be), you can jiggle it up and down. The longer back rest part locks into place just fine. When we take the seat off the base though the bottom And top both seem locked. Is it meant to do this, does it matter??

I'm not sure how well I've explained that but would be grateful to hear if you think it needs repairing before we try to put a newborn in it!

  2. My partner and I are due our 1st baby in a month, and grappling with the immense amount of choice for all things baby... I was wondering if any parents have recommendations for good value disposable nappy brands?

We're going to look into cloth/nappy service in the long term, but for the first month think disposable would be more manageable. Ideally the more biodegradable/natural the better, and unscented definitely!

  3. hi there,

I'm Eleni, expecting my first on Dec 25th as well- two Christmas babies in this group!

I'm based in East Dulwich (SE22), are you all at Kings as well? I've been assigned Ivy Green midwives but have my first appointment with them in a couple weeks, so still quite vague on the midwife arrangements. I hadn't previously considered it but after talking to a friend, I'm thinking about home birth options too. Anyone else thinking about it/done it?

Morning sickness lingering a bit but feeling better than a week ago. I think we will do NCT as well, but haven't looked into it!

Congrats on making it to the second trimester :)

  4. I've had some ideas too, but would need help/expertise from others to develop them:

    - bike hangars on street like other London boroughs offer. Especially in higher density areas with flats etc.

    - lit parks at night to allow people to exercise for free in the winter. For example could part of Peckham Rye common, Burgess Park or Dulwich Park have a lit area to allow peole to run, play football, etc? With public health issues this seems like a no brainer.

    - Food/garden waste or composting scheme for estates- I live on Dawson Heights and Southwark doesn't offer their food waste collection service, but there could be a small compost heap on the corner of the estate bordering the nature reserve. Southern Housing will never do it on their own, but they might contribute some funding/be supportive, as ultimately it would reduce rubbish collection demands potentially.

Let me know if you want to discuss any further!

  5. I'm part of a recently-established casual beginner's ladies' football group who meet on Saturday morning on Peckham Rye common. A lot of us live locally and have started meeting mid-week as well for an evening kick about on the common, but as the days are getting darker we probably can't keep that up for long.

Does anyone have any recommendations of cheap/free venues where we can run around and kick a ball for an hour or so on a mid-week evening in the area?
