  1. We went through relate and it was a great experience, exactly what we needed. My one piece of advice: if you don't think the counsellor is helping actually change for someone else. Have the confidence to think maybe it's not us but they're not just good for us: it's a personal space and you need to feel comfortable with the person asking the questions.

I didn't find that it changed anything in us, but, it did make me/us look and actually listen to each other. In turn it made us realise that we were both feeling the same and we left with the tools to talk back down from an argument and forgive.

Hope it goes well, good luck!

  2. I think we should invite Adam Buxton to read these comments out loud, like his classic stand up of reading you tube comments/arguments following a film. Some of the comments here are priceless... I'm just waiting for computedshorty to start talking about 'real art' and then I'll forward the thread to Buxton to consider.
  3. I'm 100% with Louisa on this one. Can't believe it even needs to be discussed, the station building is fantastic and hidden by a horrid, dank arcade. There's plenty of space on the lane for everything: station sqre, chains, independents and artists included. In a time of such awful cuts to public spending we should be cheering at the opportunity for regeneration that this scheme offers. Plus, everyone using the station or living/working locally will enjoy an improved environment.
  4. Camberwell Grove Early Years Centre is a wonderful Southwark nursery serving the needs of a diverse community including a large percentage of children from disadvantaged families as well as vulnerable children.

This December, parents and carers of children at the Centre were told that a new staffing structure will be announced in January. The amount of information Council gave is minimal and makes it impossible for parents to formulate a coherent response to the Council's move.?This may mean that the entire nursery staff will change overnight with dreadful consequences especially for the most vulnerable children. ?

Highly skilled and long-serving nursery nurses are to be replaced by inexperienced, junior staff. This will have a profound and lasting effect on our children?s confidence, security and development. At the same time, the Council will put higher fees in place. ?

The Council has given no clear indication about either the exact nature of the proposed staff changes or about the amounts of the new fees. Southwark Council owes parents and carers a detailed explanation of their plans; we ask that they immediately halt any action while they consult with us.?We must all defend the quality of care for our children.

  5. Used it today to get to work in hackney and it was a joy. The change at London bridge and ensuing wait at freezing bus stops with building work permanently going on was horrible. Now I have one warm train ride and currently there's no standing, crammed carriages ...yet!

The journey itself was only slightly shorter but the stress levels massively reduced by knocking London bridge out of the equation. Also, I would take the 9:21 out of ED to LB and it was so rarely on time with no alternatives to jump on. At least at DH there are plenty of options for when the ELL wheels fall off!

Sorry to those who have lost the links to Victoria but this is a god send for my commute.

  6. Hi, I didn't have the 2 other children but I did have the exact same scan outcome at 6 weeks. They actually did find that they were in separate sacs at the 12 week scan as it was clearer to see; so in my experience nothing is set in stone. All twins have potential of twin to twin transfusion, but I'm yet to meet a twin mum who has experienced it.

Definitely contact DDTC, they're great and I was an active member for years.

You will be and I was warned of lots of potential problems, but luckily in my case all went well. You will be monitored more closely than a 'regular' pregnancy and they pick up problems quickly these days with many medical advancements that help along the way.

Again DDTC members can help by sharing their own stories.

Identical is amazing and incredibly special: congratulations xx
