Centre 70 is a small Charity based in West Norwood opposite the station. For more than 40 years it has been working in the community offering legal advice. We need more volunteer lawyers - you must be fully qualified - to provide pro bono legal advice for 2 hours on Monday evenings to clients who live in a relatively impoverished area. Our volunteer lawyers are: in private practice in the City or more locally, Government departments, in house legal departments of commercial organisations and at the Bar. Why do it? Most importantly it is of invaluable service to people who have no other prospect of resolving sometimes complex and sometimes simple legal problems - consumer, insurance, neighbour, traffic, utilities, employment , family, small Claims Court and much more. It is also a fulfilling adjunct to career development and sense of social responsibility. Can you do it? You don't need to be an expert in every field. What you do need is two hours on a Monday evening every 4-6 weeks and an interest in helping those who need the benefit of your knowledge, training and ability to seek out an answer even if you don't immediately know it!
