  1. One of the reasons I love living in Dulwich is that after 30 years here I'm still discovering new things.

My wife took me into the Organic Village Market Deli on Lordship Lane yesterday, which I had been walking passed and ignoring for years. I was amazed! As you go through the usual shop is a vast collection of wonders - a real cross between Aladdin's Cave and the TARDIS, shelf after shelf of the most fantastic stuff, culminating at the end with an array of chillers containing fresh pastries, Turkish Delights, Humus, Olives, it just went on and on. They even had great selection of craft beers. Really nice, helpful and friendly staff as well. Thoroughly recommend it to any foodie, or just the plain hungry!

  2. Last night, we had a wonderful Italian meal at Signoria in Lordship Lane. They are open during the day as a pleasant caf?, but at night transform themselves into a charming restaurant. The food was wonderful, the service attentive, and at the moment not too crowded. They play jazz back ground music, but at a level where it's easy to talk to each other. The two of us, main course, desert and drinks came to less than ?50. I would recommend it as well worth a go.
  3. Today a young lady came to my door asking for sponsorship to raise money for a helpcentre. I asked for a form... none only a leaflet and research shows the "helpcentre" is a faith group based in the USA. So I'm not sponsoring.
