  1. My elderly neighbour was recently burgled and it shook him up quite a bit. They got into his house while he was sleeping. They came in through the back garden via the side access so we've decided to get some security gates fitted in the side alley between our two houses. Can anyone recommend someone who could build and install them? They need to be quite tall and robust.

    Thanks

  2. I'd like to recommend Peter Bennison, a local plumber. He recently installed a new boiler in my house and did a fantastic job. He was extremely professional and his pricing was very competitive. I contacted a number of people for quotes but he was the only one who measured the flow rate of the water supply before making his recommedation. I would not hesitate to use him again.

    His contact number is 0208 299 1385

  3. Another danger arises from buses turning right onto Peckham Rye from the Nunhead side. They block your view of the oncoming traffic so you don't know whether the cars have stopped at the light or not. By the time the bus has turned and you can see properly, the traffic starts to advance from the side and you're trapped in the middle of the junction. Unfortunately, a filter light alone won't stop cars jumping the lights, it would probably take a camera to do that.
  4. Does anyone else have a problem with the junction of Peckham Rye and East Dulwich Road? Nearly everytime I try to turn right onto Peckham Rye from East Dulwich Road, someone goes through the red light. There is barely enough time for 2 cars to make the right turn before the lights change as there is very little delay and no filter light. Then you're prevented from turning by the inevitable light jumper. There was a fatality on that junction quite recently and it needs looking at.
  5. Spot on Jeremy and first mate. The fact is there are people who are afraid of dogs. How are they supposed to know which dogs are well behaved and which might attack them? These people don't need counselling, they just need to feel safe and that's why dogs should be kept on a leash.
