  1. Hello -

I play folk/bluegrass with a friend who sings and we were just wondering if there might be someone out there with experience/interest/ability to do some harmonising/singing with us? I think a female voice might be preferable for the contrast but would love to hear from anyone who's into this sort of thing. We are keen to play once a week, but purely for fun, no delusions of grandeur!

    Cheers

  2. Hello -

I play regularly with a friend (two guitars, one voice - very occasional backing vocals) and we're looking for other musicians who might be interested to get involved. Pretty firmly in the folk/bluegrass/acoustic spectrum I guess, we play some covers (Wagon Wheel, Caleb Meyer, Matty Groves, Miss Ohio etc) and some of our own. We're OK I guess, nothing incredibly special (and not looking to 'make it'! ha) but really enjoying playing and would like to start doing more gigs (currently occasional open mics). I guess the dream would be to find a violinist familiar with these styles of music who happens to sing lovely harmonies and who wants to play every week or so but would love to hear from anyone interested. Mandolin could also work really well and another voice could really add texture too...

A high standard of wooly jumpers is a bonus.

    Cheers

  3. I would also be very happy to recommend Nick - he spent the day with us on Friday fitting a gate into a fence (did a great job), cut out and installed a catflap into our kitchen door and fitted a shower screen. He also helped my girlfriend decide on what colour to paint our bedroom, which is perhaps the greatest service of all as otherwise I'd still be looking at samples on the wall! Thoroughly pleasant chap and very easy to deal with. Will be using him again I'm sure...
