  1. Don?t believe that is the case, however ULEZ will be implemented On April 8th I belive, within the existing CCharge area, most petrol cars built before 2005 and diesels cars/vans built before September 2015 will need to pay ?12.50 on top of the CCharge. The ULEZ is in place 24/7.

In 2021, the ULEZ will be extended to the North and South circulars, this includes residents within the area.

  2. Duliwichgracie made me investigate my claims further, the TFL website is the only place that seems to want inform you of the law:

    Operation times may

vary, and if there is no

    time restriction on the

    sign, the bus lane is

    operational at all times.

My interpretation of the law was:

Only specified vehicles (buses, taxis i.e. Hackney Carriages, emergency services and cyclists) may enter a bus lane during operating hours.

Can't believe we really need to keep that bus lane clear 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, it really is soooo busy at 3am on a Tuesday morning...

Sounds like someone should have a word with the local councilor about it, especially now that the Sainsbury's car park has appalling queues nowadays...

  3. You are free to drive in the bus lane at any time on the way up the hill to Sainsbury's. There is no time listed in the bus lane signs, you are only breaking the law during the hours and days listed on the bus lane sign. If the bus lane is in force 24 hours a day, then it will state "At any time", otherwise you are free to drive in the bus lane if outside the hours and days listed.

I find it amusing watching people look at me as I drive in the bus lane legally, because people don't know you can drive in the lane outside of the hours...

By the way, the square boxes on top of traffic lights, are transponder receivers, which are used by Ambulances and Fire Engines. They emit a signal from the front of their vechiles, which is received by these boxes, and it changes all the lights the red, so they can pass through safely.

  4. I see the Forest Hill Tavern (FHT) is having a refit, looks nice on the outside and the garden is being decked out as well.

Anyone aware of what "style" pub they are going for?

Before you ask, it does have a SE22 postcode :)-D

  5. Hi, The Herne Tavern has been taken over by the guys that run the Palmerston, and renamed The Herne, although they have not got round to redecorating the front yet....

Could we have it added to the vote please? It is my local pub now, great garden, if somewhat unusual, nice food and cheaper than the Palmerston... Very good for kids if you have them :)
