  1. Not policy, just a Game of Thrones fan who was excited to serve them commenting on a tongue in cheek thread. I think if I were a famous ED resident, I'd be more uncomfortable about my local pub being outed as per many of the posts on this thread, I doubt any Game of Thrones megafans are going to camp outside the shop hoping they might pop in again.
  2. Liz Earle hot cloth cleanser cannot be beat - there's a reason it has so many awards! Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue for a foundation and Benefit for the rest - Porefessional, They're Real, Brow Zings, Fake it and their boxed powders. Lipstick and eyeshadow can pretty much be from anywhere - Bourjois is a good cheaper option, made by Chanel. I worked for Benefit for 8 years and I've tried other things since I left but it's just not the same! If you want a real treat, January and February are a quiet time in beauty and Benefit often have their make up artist team out in either the Carnaby St boutique or any of the Oxford Street dept stores doing make up lessons - have a look on their facebook page. Lisa, Lauren, Lauretta, Claire, Alyson or Amy-Lou - any of them will make you feel a million bucks!
  3. I didn't actually have treatment while pregnant but did just after with Simon from the Vale Practice on grove vale. He could tell before I'd said a thing that I had been pregnant, overdue and had a fast birth because he was so used to working on pregnant and post pregnancy women. He also diagnosed my severe gallstones long before 3 people at DMC and 2 A&E consultants at Kings did anything about it (when it became life threatening!).
  4. It's a nightmare to get a stall, I've tried and failed for the last 2 years. There may seem to be lots of empty spaces, but they're all taken up by holders who turn up whichever weekend they like rather than being there every weekend like all the good holders are. The permit covers both friday and saturday and as you'll see there's rarely more than 2 stalls on a friday, but you cant get a permit for the friday only even if it improved the market, because they're already taken up with poeple who don't set up on a friday. James Barber responded to my concerns about empty spaces - two weekends in row I counted 11 or more spaces, and said he'd follow up but never heard anything more.
  5. It can affect the ability to get a mortgage on the property. My friend is in limbo going through a sale due to this at the moment. Her house had knotweed caught early and treated after the survey, and whilst the report from the gardener has said there ae no more traces of it, the buyers mortgage lenders are refusing to go ahead. They are now having to pay a specialist company thousands to do a further investigation on the gardens.
  6. Hi Vicki,

Would you be interested in doing a one off job next week?

I'm looking for some help with a bit of a spring clean - windows, blinds, skirting board, doors, tiles etc. I'm a new-ish mum and just struggling to find the time to get this kind of thing done so ideally wanted some help next thursday afternoon? Is this something you could do and how much would you charge?

    Thanks,

    Lisa
