  1. Struggling with Physics? Is your child finding physics challenging? As a parent, you may feel their frustration when homework takes hours, and you catch yourself saying, “I wish I could help more.” Physics can feel overwhelming without a solid understanding of the concepts behind each problem, especially when students are expected to analyse real-world situations. You’ve Tried Flashcards and YouTube Clips You’ve tried watching YouTube videos on Newton’s Laws, testing them with flashcards on key terms, and reviewing the textbook together. Despite these efforts, it can feel like pieces of the puzzle are still missing. You know that your child’s confidence will grow as they begin to grasp the material and succeed in their studies. How I Can Help This is where I can help! As an experienced physics teacher, examiner, and tutor, I offer personalised support to help your child break down complex problems and grasp the underlying concepts. Together, we create problems based on their interests, making physics both approachable and engaging. With this approach, I’ll ensure your child has a strong foundation to excel in their GCSE and A Level physics studies. This is a perfect time for your Year 12 to gain support in this last year to attain those grades for university www.physicswithkate.com Contact me and we can have a free phone consultation to see how I can support your child on their Physics journey. I have 6 slots available for next term as my last cohort have now completed their exams. Slots are: 4:30 pm - 5:30 pm Monday - Thursday 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm on Monday and Tuesday Best wishes, Kate Some reviews I've had from previous courses, with more on our website: The GCSE science revision course exceeded our expectations in every way. Not only did my daughter grow in confidence and practice her exam technique, but she also enjoyed working in small groups and the warm, engaging style of all three teachers. Thank you for a brilliant course! Thank you so much! My daughter really enjoyed and got a lot out of the week - we’ve enjoyed her dinner time science lectures too! (this evenings was hierarchy of waves and parts of the heart.)
  2. There is a new STEM Camp running at Dulwich College this summer. It's a very exciting venture based on running many different forms of STEM Camps over the last 15 years, from Robot Wars to making satellites in a coke can. This summer the three STEM projects include a range of skills and interests. Who: Children Leaving Y7 and Y8 Where: Dulwich College What time: 10am - 3pm Cost: £100 a day, and keep the STEM Project Mon 12th August 2024 Rocket Making With SpaceX sending up rockets to space and now on their fourth flight test for Starship, the rocket market is booming. Everyone can choose from a range of rocket fuels, H20 is a popular one in the summer, and design for two stage rocket after considering what is working well at the moment. Tuesday 13th August 2024 Air Quality Coding and making air quality sensors with micropython and raspberry picos and sensors. What is the air like around Dulwich College and if time, out into the village? What does the data even mean, the WHO will be able to help with this. Wednesday 14th August 2024 Automation Automation is taking over, and we'll code, solder and build a system to water plants, but only when they need it. This requires logic, DT skills, coding sensors with a raspberry pico. The booking form is live on the website. Let me know if you have any questions, All the best, Kate https://www.physicswithkate.com/stem-camps NB There is also an Art Camp running at the same time by my very accomplished artist friend, making pieces that will stand out in any portfolio or on the wall. https://www.physicswithkate.com/art-camp-1
