A few weeks ago I parked in the parking space at the lordship lane end of Matham Grove. It is free to park there for 30 mins but you have to register on the pay by phone app. For which you pay a 20p admin fee - which is outrageous in itself. Anyway I put it on the app and was gone no longer than 10 minutes. When I came back I found a warden issuing a ticket. I said that I had registered but when I opened the app there was just a wheel going round so there was a glitch with the app. The warden said that he had seen me leave my car so agreed I had not been longer than the allocated free time and did not warrant a ticket, but said he could not take the ticket back once issued but that our conversation was on record and I should appeal. so I did. I provided a photo of the app with the screen going around and which had timings on it. My appeal has been rejected. Because I had not paid for parking which is free!!! to add to the confusion the 30 mins free parking sign had fallen off - see attached photo of the sign on both sides of Matham grove. What I would like to know is do you think I should appeal the fine or pay the £55 fine now before it doubles??

When the incident happened to me I didn't deem it that serious and then read more about other incidents on here. At that point I made an online report of the incident on the Met website as I believe other people have.

Same thing happened to me on on East Dulwich Grove on Monday at around 3pm going towards the Charter ED from Alleyn's. He was shouting and swinging his fists as he came towards me. I ran across the road and he continued to shout at me and then proceeded up the road and started throwing things at people. Exactly the same description as previous posters.

Yes we did too. As our alarm went off. It happened twice once around 4am and once around 6am.

I totally agree with Rollflick The parking restrictions on Melbourne Grove side of Lordship Lane will mean further pressure on the Crawthew Grove/Crystal Palace Road side of Lordship Lane as visitors seek out free parking. The north end of Crystal Palace Road is already pressured due to the gym/pool. When they redeveloped the leisure centre they made no parking provision for visitors. Sunday night after 6pm when the leisure centre is shut the road is full of parking spaces. If they are going to introduce parking zones they should introduce them on both sides and take into account the leisure centre hours also for those roads adjacent.

I welcome this scheme. Living on the Goose Green end of Crystal Palace Road, during the leisure centre open hours I struggle to park. i can often spend at least 15mins sometimes half an hour driving around trying to find a parking space within 5 minutes walk of my house. I don't expect to be able to park directly outside my house but it would be helpful to park relatively near my house. On Sunday evenings when the Leisure Centre is closed the street is half empty with lots of spaces. The worst times are when swimming lessons are on from 4-7pm and on Saturday mornings. So for those on my street the CPZ hours would ideally cover those times.

My car was broken into on CPR in September - it was outside the swimming pool (as I can never park anywhere near my home on CPR) and broken into overnight. They didn?t take anything as there was nothing to take just broke my passenger window. So very annoying especially as it was raining all weekend and I couldn?tget the window replaced until the Monday. The police weren?t interested either.

It's a bad scene. I saw someone had a lot of garden waste out for collection this morning on that road - how on earth is the garden waste collection lorry going to get down there!

Just caught a bloke going through my elderly neighbor's bins. When I asked what he was doing he said hesitantly that he was looking for shoes. I told him he should ask first. Then saw him further down the road going through someone else's bins. They clocked him and he disappeared. Not sure if he was up to no good but be careful when disposing of personal info.

I always thought hamsters were horrible and smelly but we got one for my 9'yr old last oct and it has been such a success. It is still the best ever present (according to 9 yr old). Still totally absorbing. Not smelly - you just need to make sure you clear its wee patch away every day. They wee in the same place. Great for teaching about responsibility. Don't keep in a bedroom - they are noisy. We keep ours in our living room round a corner and found a great cage (habitrail loft) that is cool and minimal. She doesn't bite and is great to handle. Make sure you read up in advance. Also we were going to get guinea pigs (I had them as a child) but they should be kept outside (so a big no no because of foxes)! And you need to get someone to come and feed gps when you go away whereas a hamster is easy to take around to a friend (and not much hassle for them)! Also syrian hamsters like living alone. And last of all 2 years lifetime is good as most children will probably be bored by then!

Hi. Our phone line has gone dead since yesterday afternoon. Internet working fine. Anyone else got problems? We are on crystal palace road.

Well unfortunately it's causung damage to the property and far too big for front garden so nothing to be done. Sad but inevitable.

I have just found out this is happening and there is no tree preservation order on it. This is a real shame and I wish there was something we could do to save it. It's an East Dulwich landmark! Help!
