  1. Thanks all.

I had a suspicion that the cost was going to be out of my reach but the problem with just painting is that the pebble dash is scarred and missing in chunks where we've had work done. So I'm not actually sure if it would improve it.

Maybe it's possible to get a spray of pebble dash over the messy bits to blend it and then paint it!

Although I have absolutely no idea whether pebbke dashing as an art form still exists...

  2. Any help would be welcome here.

I have a pebble dash wall that has had some work and is now scarred, thus making said pebble dash even less attractive to the eye, and it wasn't pretty before.

We need to move soon (baby coming! Agh!) and so we're looking for the cheapest, most effective way of making this good before we try and sell.

    Can it be plastered over?

Does anyone know of anyone who does this kind of work locally?

Any guidance would be massively appreciated.

    Thank you

  3. MrBen, sounds like you're getting a bargain, but perhaps a slightly different kind of service.

Beverley, you speak much sense, thank you. I have only once left her a list, when I realised I wasn't getting much value for money, and she did do some of it, but I haven't left a list since so she's not bothered.

I just assumed that perhaps she may use her own initiative and clean some stuff that was dirty without being asked.

She came via a friend of mine who has a 3 bed house, so I presume she gets more bang for her buck as we pay the same price.

Maybe I'll start saving for a self cleaning house, they exist, right?

  4. I've told my other half he can pay me the ?35 and I'll do it.

When she started I asked how many hours she did and she stressed that she didn't work by the hour, she worked until the job was finished. Which I'd be more than happy with if she'd only clean the bath before she sped out the door.

I'm feeling a tad like I'm being taken for a ride. She only does the stuff I already do and I kinda wanted a cleaner to do the stuff I hate doing.

I think our time may be up.

  5. That's brilliant, thank you.

Most tempted as I know it will fit through our tiny door, just wondered if they were a bit too good to be true! Obviously not.

    Thanks again.

  6. Hi all.

Hoping for some advice regarding bags of vintage/designery/high streety clothes that I've been accumulating for years and are now starting to make me feel like a crazy clothes lady. I've got no room left and sometimes I feel like my one bed flat is getting to be like that scene in Star Wars where the walls close in and that monstery thing comes up through the floor.

    I digress.

I've got bags of good, somewhat exciting clothing. It's all creased up in balls, smelling slightly of damp and I'm completely stumped about what to do with it, can't afford to take it all to the dry cleaners for a freshen up, can't put myself or my local Post Office through another Ebay sale, can't wear it all even if I lived for another 50 years/lost a truck load of weight.

Bags and bags have already gone to the charity shops, left with stuff that I couldn't quite bear to give away.

Does anyone have any thoughts/hints about what to do with it?

    Any feedback wholly appreciated.

    Thank you.
