  1. Are there any recommendations for a reliable GP surgery near Bellenden Road that is currently accepting new patients? Currently registered at Tessa Jowell and since they moved from Melbourne Grove they've been totally useless. In every way.
  2. Has anyone else noticed that since the GP surgery moved from Melbourne Grove to the new location they've been completely out to lunch? In the past three months I've:

    - shown up for an appointment I'd booked only to discover they had no record of me coming.

    - requested a phone consultation but never received a call from the doctor.

    - arranged to have tests for my son but the request never got through to the doctor.

    - when I finally spoke with someone about the tests for my son I was told to fill out the online consultation form. But that form says I can only fill the form out for myself. If I need to speak about my child I should contact the practice (!!??)

    - spent more time on hold just trying to speak with someone that it makes more sense to just go down there in person, wasting even more time.

I'd love to know if anyone else has experienced this horrible ineptitude. I'm thinking of finding a new GP but nobody is taking on new patients.

  3. We're looking for a tutor for our son who is in first year of GCSEs (year 10). Ideally someone who can cover English, Geography, Science, Maths, Spanish but I think our general concern is just teaching him how to revise and prepare for exams and the months ahead. Starting asap and through next year.
  4. We're looking at changing our ISP. Currently have Virgin but it's proven unreliable: slow downloads, frequent loss of service completely...

What is the most reliable ISP in SE15? BT? Sky? Please share your opinions and experiences.

    Thanks.

  7. Hello.

I'm a writer and creative writing facilitator in preparation stages for writing workshops on Bellenden Road early Spring, 2016. Initial classes will be offered in Memoir and Life Writing with the prospect of expanding into other genres in the future.

Each session will focus on a specific writing component and will include discussions about creative writing as it pertains to memoir, exemplified by proven published works, combined with in-class and take-home writing assignments.

Fees are yet to be confirmed and may depend on interest, however an educated estimate is ?280 for seven sessions, two hours once a week. This may include light food, tea, coffee and cakes.

You can visit http://www.magpiewriting.co.uk/creative-writing-classes/ for details. Or PM me with questions.

  8. Hi.

I'm a writer in Peckham. I've just started planning a creative writing class with an emphasis on writing memoir or personal writing. My speciality is memoir writing. I have a potential location sorted out on Bellenden Road at one of the cafes, which means the classes will include food, coffee, tea and cakes, hopefully making it feel more like a club than a class. If I get ten people signed up it's a go. There will be a fee for seven sessions, each one focussing on a different aspect of creative writing.

My own memoir, Immortal Highway, has jus been published and is available. The launch is at Review Books on 14 January. If you want more details PM me and I'll send you a link.

I used to dance but not anymore.

    Thanks.
