The development of the Dog Kennel Hill Estate has been on the cards for some time. Southwark council sought planning permission to sell off some of the blocks to private developers, and use the money raised to develop/ spruce up the remaining blocks. Infact, at least one of the blocks has been done up. So it will be left half private/ newly built properties and half spruced up council owned blocks I believe. About 12 months ago there were lots of tenants campaigning against the sale to private developers (of the blocks near the railway line) and I haven't heard any more since. Its all part of the local government scheme to regenerate council property - but they needed to raise money first.
I used to live in Ivanhoe Road and kept more of an eye on it but moved 12 months ago to nearer Lordship Lane
