  1. I wonder why companies still use RM? They must be cheaper than Hermes or DPD. But they certainly aren't cheaper this end - the delivery for one of those parcels that they failed to deliver was ?8. I certainly didn't get much bang for my buck!
  2. one was too large and one needed signing for - but a big strapping teen answered the door and could have taken care of all that but wasn't asked. She didn't see the card hidden in the mail till too late. And she took in a different parcel which was why he rang the bell. this is well fishy. and seriously Orpington?
  3. ORPINGTON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They want me to go to Orpington to collect a parcel? Are they serious? TFL say it's an hour and 12 minutes away. and worse - the postman HANDED the card to my 16yr old child with a bunch of letters and one other parcel AGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! (I feel a bit better now thanks)
  4. I had a parcel worth ?300 go missing before Christmas. I contacted Espirit who had used Royal Mail to deliver it. Royal Mail told them they had tried to deliver (hadn't) and had left a card (hadn't) and had a left the parcel with a neighbour called Mr Khan. To this day Royal Mail have not been able to provide myself or Espirit with a street number for Mr Khan. I don't know him and could not locate him. I presume they have proof of delivery to him but they did not appear to be able to locate the parcel. After nearly two months of fighting i finally got a refund but who knows where the goods ended up? Royal Mail are appalling. The only two parcels i had trouble with during the Christmas rush were the only two parcels using them - everything else was absolutely fine. Now i just don't buy goods from anyone who uses them as a carrier.
  5. Royal Mail have apparently delivered a parcel of mine to a neighbour, Mr Khan, but didn't tell me the house number!!!! Can anyone help me out? Thanks!
  6. Vuaxhall City Farm if your child likes animals. My child volunteered there three years ago and is still going. she loves it.
  7. There is one in Fusion at reception. A good one to know about since it is the closest to the kids' playground.
  8. camomile teabags for eyes are brilliant. or you can buy dried eyebright (a herb) for 2 or 3 quid in Health Matters - that REALLY helps. Or step it up with an OTC anti-hystamene eyedrop - https://www.boots.com/boots-pharmaceuticals-hayfever-relief-w-v-eye-drops-10ml-10190807 i know squat about bark... (But if anyone has any tips how to stop the Plain tree bombs from ripping up the back of your throat...) Good luck
  9. oh - the one where used Primark is more expensive than Primark?
  10. do we think this is connected to the bottles of yellow stuff?
  11. Thanks Peterstorm and Pugwash for taking the time - really helpful! it sounds like try and sort it all out without involving the council - except for possibly that 'dangerous' branch...
  12. Does anyone have experience of this? Our back fence needs to be replaced on all three sides. Our landlord put up the fence originally but feels he shouldn't have to foot the bill for all of it again. Which sounds fair enough. To the left of us (as you face away from the house) is council owned and to the right is privately rented. How do we even know who is responsible for what? It seems well murky... Also the council owned property was riddled with knotweed which the council treated and it seems to be gone from them but has now emerged in our garden! There is also an enormous tree on that property blocking a lot of our light. Does anyone know if it would even be worth contacting the council about these issues and know which area to contact? I'm know i'm asking a lot but i'm going round in circles trying to figure it out so a tip in the right direction would be greatly appreciated! Thanks
