Hello, I?m Ben Maitland, and I?m standing in the council elections for the South Camberwell Ward seat as a Liberal Democrat. The main point of this post is to ask you what you?d like to see improved in the area. Either directly in the ward or locally as well. Please let me know your thoughts on things which you think need changing. In my professional life, I am a public sector communications specialist and have worked on some of the biggest issues facing the UK including the NHS and national security. I founded TackleAfrica: a charity which enables young people to protect themselves against HIV. That belief defines the issues I care about most and is why I want to become councillor for South Camberwell - I love this area but think it could still be so much better, especially if we are going to unlock the capacity of everyone who lives here. I?ve been living locally for years now, and am a big fan of James Barber - having seen the excellent work he?s done in the neighbouring East Dulwich wards. I joined the Liberal Democrats in May this year after our election defeat and decided I wanted to get involved. Thank you very much, Ben P.S. If you want to drop me an email instead, message me on
