  1. I’m writing to stand up for local businesses, particularly Suzanne’s supper clubs and lunch. Having been to several of these, I feel protective of her business, her hospitality, and her good name, which she has built over 35 years of experience. I don’t live in the village and I’m not wealthy, but I believe in paying for quality. Suzanne’s offerings are premium, and I thoroughly enjoyed her food, company, and her commitment to her beliefs. So much so that I recommended her to some friends who are getting married in the summer. They too were impressed by the service and response, and they booked up straight away. At £45, this price range falls at the lower end of the private catering range for that level of quality and service. Here are some things that justify that price: - Quality ingredients: Suzanne uses good cuts of meat and fresh produce. - Homemade sauces and sides: Her sauces and sides are not prepared in bulk or pre-made. - Dessert included: Dessert is included, which adds extra cost and labour. - Delivery and plating/warming service: Suzanne provides delivery and plating/warming service. I agree that £45 might feel steep if the food was delivered cold with no service, or if the portions were small, or if the ingredients weren’t high quality. However, what Suzanne offers is a full-service roast dinner experience, not a basic meal. So, £45 is not a lot by London catering standards. If you’re comparing it to a basic pub roast, that’s cheaper, but not in terms of effort or offering. You can find out more about Suzanne, her sense of community, using local suppliers and providing training and lifelong skills to youngsters here; https://www.suzannejames.co.uk/about-us To not charge corkage is unheard of, even at Thai corner it’s a fiver.. PS. You’ll definitely have gleaming cutlery, glassware, crockery and freshly pressed linen and napkins with some floristry. Quite far removed from a £20 roast you can get at a pub!
  2. Thanks. Not needed now… appreciate you replying.

    Old magazines

Hello, I have a vision board class with a lot of women aged 25 to 45. Any female specific magazines lying around please I’d be happy to collect. Ideally East Dulwich and I collect Sunday 25th Jan. thanks Emily
  4. I wanted to recommend my physio Mario. Highly recommend him to anyone. he’s based on coldharbour lane SE5. Mario previously was working in East Dulwich but now has his own practise. After my apt my range of movement has dramatically improved, able to put weight on the joint, swelling significantly reduced. Mario accepts medical health insurance clients from Nuffield, vitality, bupa too. https://orthophysioclinic.co.uk 07417 413969
  5. https://www.goosegreenclinic.net I’ve not personally used the osteopath, however I have been to the clinic, I’ve made a recommendation previously and heard good things, potentially with an explore and local too. Thanks
  6. I’ve been seeing Lisa at goose green clinic for energy work for a year now. Lisa is kind, caring and hugely supportive. She is wonderfully masterful and trained as a reiki master for 20 plus years. Alongside other energy work. My time spent with her is like therapy. An emotional safe space for deep conversations and reflection followed by relaxing and energising healing work. each experience I’ve had has been different, the end result remains the same. Feel lighter, almost euphoric and almost float home. Definitely an experience not to be missed. https://www.goosegreenclinic.net/therapies/healing-energy-work/

  7. I bought my peloton last August, I sit 4 feet in front of it everyday at my desk. When I do use it I love it, yet no interest nor obligation to use it of late without some gentle boost of encouragement other than my gelatinous self reflection. Once upon a time (not all too long ago) I’d be doing 2 spin classes a day. I know I have it in me and I’m far from lazy. Be great if anyone locally wanted to do some check ins / accountability / light and fun competitive elements etc. I’ve seen at least 3 pelotons in windows in SE22. I’m one step away from knocking on their doors 😀. Responses of sincere kindness and helpful support are welcome only. Advice is not sought after. Purely welcoming people who have access to a peloton to discuss further. Thanks Emily
  8. These are still there by the way. I saw them this evening. Have sent you a PM

  12. The cherry tree, lordship lane
  13. I was ripped off and charged incorrectly too, also for tomatoes. Seemingly they have started taking over the entire pavement, passers by don’t seem to have the right of way on the pavement?! It’s like they own the corner. I’ve been walked into twice by loading and unloading of boxes / crates. I walk the opposite side now and avoid. And before you say it “I’m aware it’s lordship lane and the advantages of shopping locally, but I’m not selling a kidney for fruit & veg”.
  14. Ann, also owns lyttle minx nail salon on Lordship Lane. The spelling of Lyttle is not a typo from my side 😂.
  15. Or join trusted house sitter!
  16. I’ve lived on lordship lane for 8 years and been working from home since 2020. I’ve used sky, plus net and virgin media. Now moving to Vodafone due to price hikes. All have been fine for 15 plus devices in a 2 person household, although Virgin got greedy and they prefer you to talk to a BOT on webchat function, shoddy customer service and the coverage was lagging and patchy of late even though no service disruption (apparently). I even terminated my contract with them a month early via messaging service.
  17. Hi all, looking at giving back at this festive time of year. I work full time but I'm happy to help out if there are any schemes available over the weekend and evenings. Thanks
