  1. Hello,

This summer we are producing a podcast for Foyles Children's festival - Storybox.

We have our young podcast hosts lined up (all from East Dulwich)for the podcast episodes but we are now looking for reporters who would like to attend a few events and ask a few questions (pre-written) to the authors and illustrators leading the workshops.

The first event we are recording will be 'Dinosaur Roar' led by illustrator Paul Stickland:

    http://www.foyles.co.uk/Public/Events/Detail.aspx?eventId=3358

and we have a few short questions to ask Paul after the workshop but we would like a child to ask these questions (and others if they fancy)!

We produced the podcast series for last year's festival hosted by children and young people, which you can find one of the episodes here:

If your child would like to be involved or you would like more information, we would love to hear from you!

For more information about the work we do, head to our website: http://www.wordplayeducation.co.uk/

Looking forward to hearing from you,

    Zoe & Leon

  6. Hello everyone,

This summer, we are running several podcast and radio projects for children and are in the process of producing some short audio trails prior to the events. As these events are for children, it makes perfect sense to have young voices talking on the microphones.

So, we're on the lookout for children (aged 9-16) to record some short audio clips (scripted by us) - we're based in East Dulwich and can bring our microphones to you if your kids fancy getting involved. If you have children who are confident readers and would love to chat on our microphones, please do get in touch!

In way of thanks, we'd be able to record anything that you or your children would like to be saved forever in audio - perhaps a song, story or poem etc. We could also offer a cheeky discount on our radio birthday parties!

If you would like to know a little more about what we do, head over to our website:

    http://www.wordplayeducation.co.uk/

We're looking forward to hearing from you and your budding radio star children!

Don't hesitate to ask any questions.

    All the best,

    Zoe & Leon

  7. Not sure what to buy for your other half this V Day?

We (Zoe & Leon) run audio, podcast and radio projects in and around East Dulwich: http://www.wordplayeducation.co.uk/

During the run up to big V, we will be helping people create a special personalised valentines message for their loved ones (and little ones) in time for Valentine's Day.

Forget moonpig and lastminute.com! Up until the beginning of February, we're inviting people to visit our home studio in East Dulwich, or we can visit you with our pop-up recording studio to record their very own unique Valentines messages, future loving messages for their little ones to hear in years to come, personalised mix tapes, podcasts and more.

If you would like to find out more about what we can offer, please send us an email on [email protected] if you fancy giving a special audio gift this Valentines - perhaps you have a secret crush, you have written a poem, or maybe you just want to pour your heart out to your family (on the microphones)!

Do give us a shout if you fancy something a little different this V Day!

    All the best,

    Zoe & Leon - http://www.wordplayeducation.co.uk/

  9. Hi everyone,

I have Type 1 Diabetes (bore) and I've just signed up to Swim 22 (2017) to swim 22 miles for the fantastic charity - Diabetes UK. The challenge takes place in February - May 2017 and I will be swimming 1408 lengths in Dulwich Leisure Centre. I'm pretty unfit so this will be major for a fatty batty like me! I'm pretty passionate about this and wanted to share my story with East Dulwich! If you want to take part as well, you can register here: https://www.diabetes.org.uk/Get_involved/Fundraising-events/Swim22/

I also run audio projects for children (and ocassionally adults) as my day job http://www.wordplayeducation.co.uk/ I've been talking to the charity about potentially creating audio diaries with people taking part in the challenge to hopefully appear on their website/social media so if you know anyone taking part or you have a story and would like me to record it, please do get in touch!

If you would like to donate to this awesome charity, my page is here: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Zoe-Byatt?utm_medium=email&utm_source=ExactTarget&utm_campaign=20161011_92270#

Thank you so much to anyone reading this!! I currently cannot walk at the moment with an injury BUT I will be getting in the pool as soon as poss to get training!

  11. Hi everyone,

I'm creating a Diabetes Podcast (I have Type 1 Diabetes) and I'm looking for people with Diabetes - T1 or 2, who I can interview for my podcast about everyday things - I want to talk to you! Each episode will be a different theme / person interviewed so I may just ask you about a specific aspect of your life or it may just be pretty random to be honest & you can choose what we talk about.

My day job is working with children on audio, podcast & radio projects: http://www.wordplayeducation.co.uk/ so you can get an idea of some of the projects I work on, but my podcast will be more of a hobby rather than work!

It won't be a preachy podcast, I'm looking for people to give advice (to me as well as listeners), talking about certain difficulties, and I'll also be trying to interview Diabetic Specialists, professional sports people with diabetes, and anyone else who will talk to me - so a real range!

If you have Type 1 or 2 Diabetes and you are interested in appearing/starring in one of my podcast episodes, do let me know!

  12. Hello,

Does anyone work for, or know anyone who works for Southwark Council?

I have a community audio project proposal for the Council and they're very hard to get in touch with!

http://www.wordplayeducation.co.uk/ - I co-run audio, podcast & radio projects for children & adults in ED and would love to get a large-scale community arts project underway for a little Christmas idea I have!

If you have a contact name/number/email address, I'd be really grateful!

    Thank you!

    Zoe (& Leon)

  13. Hi all,

I'm looking for cheapish/reasonably priced weekend holiday accommodation for next weekend for the boyf and I, and was wondering if anyone owned a holiday home in places like Sussex or Kent - somewhere not too far to drive from ED - that would like to rent it out to us for the weekend (Fri 23rd September - Sunday 25th September).

If you have a second home or rent a holiday pad, please do let me know! I need a break from Laaandaaan!

In return for offering an ED discount, we run audio projects http://www.wordplayeducation.co.uk/ and can record anything of your choice free of charge!

    Thanks a lot!

  14. Come along to our Jumble Sale at house numbers 279, 264 & 274 Upland Road on Saturday 17th September 11am-4pm!

We have lots of fabulous items for sale, and you may even be able to get your own tarot reading done!

If it rains, the stalls outside 279 Upland Road will be inside the house, so no need to worry about our lovely weather forecast!

    See you there!

  15. Hi everyone, thanks for all the suggestions. I went to Lily's hair in the end and I'm so glad I did. Lily did an amazing job with my hair and I came away with a fringe (I never thought I could rock a fringe)! I would 100% recommend Lily - great price, great cut!
  16. Hello,

I have a slight phobia of getting my hair cut. I'm not sure what it is that I dislike but the whole notion of going to the hairdressers slightly freaks me out.

Anyway, I am getting real fed up with my long lanky hair and need a decent (but cheapish) haircut!

I've been to a few round ED but not very happy with the cut so I tend to just not go..

Has anyone got any good suggestions which will not cost me a day's worth of work to get a little trim or even a restyle!?

Any tips and recommendations very welcome. If you could see my split ends, you would cringe!

    Thanks a lot,

    Zoe
