  1. Hi - anyone out there use Fruity Loops music software? My 13 year old is really keen to get to know it but I can?t help him and You Tube tutorials only help up to a point. Willing to pay for a couple of hours of help.

    Thank you - Helen

  2. We are being frequently visited by a very vocal, young, male, grey tabby cat.

He?s been around for a few weeks now, possibly a ?six dinner Sid? as he?s always hungry and comes in through the cat flap and helps himself. My two female cats aren?t too keen so would be great to relocate him home.

We are Surrey rd (cheltenham rd end) but I know he also visits a house in rye rd.

If you know him can you get in touch? I?ll take him to the vet and see if he?s chipped too.

    Thanks - helen

  3. Yet another recommendation for David at Norwood Roofing. Very easy to work with, lovely team and really good work. Arrived on time last week and leaded my roof at back of house, replaced tiles, removed moss and flaunched the chimney stack. Returned this week and installed lead in the front roof valley, bay window and plugged up a hole they found under the fascia board.

  4. I need to replace the fascia boards and guttering on the front of my house plus a bit of external decorating. Is this the sort of job that requires scaffolding or could it be done off a ladder? Anyone know the rough cost of scaffolding to a two storey house?

    Thank you

  5. I just wanted to recommend VIP BIN. Wheelie bin cleaning service. Costs ?3 per month and the bin is jet sprayed and deoderised. Really nice guys, reliable service and the bin smells nice and fruity! I'm in Nunhead but i've seen them out at work in ED.

  6. I also wanted to recommend Paul at IT999. He has fixed my ailing laptop, sorted out wi fi in my shed and has generally given me lots of advice about things I know nothing about! He is a very friendly, helpful and reasonably priced. Great relief to find someone localish who can help with computer probs.

  7. In agreement with Whisteria, my family also cycle to school everyday and the area of road outside Harris Girls is a real mess at the moment. There is zebra crossing installed but unopen (barriers across the entrance) and a potentially disasterous combination of parents stopping on zig zag lines, u turning in the road and very fast traffic turning onto Homestall Road from Cheltenham Road. Fencing has been installed along the length of the area outside the school and in combination with the closed crossing its difficult and unsafe to gain entry to the park (the entrance also usually blocked up by a u turning driver). All this combined with dodging school girls its all a bit difficult!

The road has also become virtually single lane traffic due to double parking - not sure if this is all teachers/staff.

I know the stopping on zig zags has been a problem up at Goodrich School but I think has been mainly resolved by a letter to parents. Considering the Harris entrance is staffed every morning it would be useful if staff could wave parents on when attempting to pull in?

  8. Although I think there is a real need for more public toilets generally not sure if I, as a female, would be keen to use that particular one if it were to be returned to use. That part of the rye is like an island, always feels cut off and a bit remote, although the grounds that surround the toilet block could be lovely as the planting is great.

My feeling is that that area needs "humanising", its a bit bleak standing there waiting for a 484 bus!, and a commercial let that maybe combined a proviso that public toilet facilites should be provided and maintained would be really useful.

After all isn't the Peckham Rye Cafe a commercial enterprise?

Maybe the cycle shop if it provided facilities plus cycle hire for use on the rye, like the set up in Dulwich park, would have been the thing to join up the two sections of the common.
