  1. Vintage IKEA rocking chair, mid nineties. Seat reclines. Lillberg series. Really solid frame. The cushion covers were originally white but I dyed them a while back. They are easily replaced -  online and also via eBay.

  2. Thank you for trying but I'd already looked at these and they collect from businesses/have a minimum weight donation.

Cheers. I'll try calling them in the half term.

Thank you. That's very kind of you but I'm bringing it over from Hackney!

Albrighton do have freezers and give out frozen food. Definitely worth a try.

Thanks for the tip - very helpful. I'm hoping to take it down next week. Xx

There are a number of food banks in N and E London. Maybe easier to goggle them or look up Hackney Council's list of warm hubs and work your way through those who also have food banks etc. I think it is also the Trussell Trust that operates some food banks.

I've done this but haven't found one in Hackney that takes frozen food

If you find somewhere, I have a car (shock horror!) and will happily collect and drop off for you. Just PM me.

  5. I have a freezer full of food to donate BUT I haven't found a food bank that will take frozen food. I also haven't found one that will let me drop off evenings or weekends. I'm at work during the day.

Added complication its I don't have a car, I'll be bringing it by taxi.

    Anyone have sensible suggestions?

  6. I'm looking to rehome my mother's cat as she is going into care. Celia Hammond haven't replied to me, Cats Protection in Croydon said they can't take him and Battersea has a waiting list.

I feel so sad for him as he's been alone in the house for 2 months now, apart from the cat sitter popping in every day. Does anyone know any other rehoming charities that might be able to help?

  7. Yes! This has been an ongoing problem for many, many years - probably about 10!. The ringing comes from the plant room to the left of the entrance.

The block is owned by the business arm of London and Quadrant. I had their number last year when I rang to complain about the noise. I was working from home through the lockdown and it was driving me insane.

The sound is intermittent so it runs for a weekend and then you won't hear it for a few days or a few months.

True. I see pied wagtails regularly in Deptford - never seen one around here despite all the greenery.

  10. Shopping accomplished! The staff were great, queues were short and moved fairly quickly. I can see why the restriction on numbers is necessary - you wouldn't want any more customers, than there were. I was anticipating it being a stressful experience like the weeks before the lockdown began, but not the case at all!

Thank you for tips and advice x

  11. Hope this isn't too silly a question, but I haven't been to Sainsburys since the lockdown began. I've been using corner shops but I'm finding most of them too crowded now. What is the etiquette for queuing? Do we pick up a trolley first or wait till we get to the entrance? Are there still restrictions on what we can buy?
