  3. What's your favourite local building or place in SE22, SE15  SE21 or SE23?? I'm an artist based in East Dulwich and have made a series of paintings of various favourites of mine such as the Horniman Conservatory, Manzes Eel + Pie shop, Dulwich Picture gallery, several local pubs, etc etc.

  6. Steve's wonderful house is absolutely worth a visit, when it's open. A visual feast, and moving stories behind the making of it. We are so lucky to have it in East Dulwich.

It's a shame that his fab mosaic floor at the front what was The Blue Mountain Cafe (then rock Steady Rum lounge) got covered up with a dark wooden floor on top....

Here are a couple of photos of details of it (and my feet!)

  7. I need to make a sort video of a series of my paintings for my website (like a slideshow, just flicking from image A to image B, image C and so on) ) and for an exhibition - any suggestions for the simplest way to do this?

I saw a few apps that seem to do the job but don't know which would be the simplest to use. Some seemed very expensive so if there are any free ones which would work that would be good.It would be handy to be able to use it for Instagram too..

Or I have an iMac which I could have a go on if not...

    thanks for any suggestions.

  8. You could also try https://www.appearhere.co.uk - they offer pop-up shops on a short term basis all over London. The prices seem to vary quite a lot! It looks as though they 2 or 3 available on Lordship lane including the one that used to be the large Plough Hoecraft shop, up near the library. That was also on their site ages ago so maybe they would be open to negotiating on the price...

If you manage to rent one and happen to need any more artists' work to show, I'm a mixed media artist and my work includes local landmarks, cityscapes, collaged landscapes etc - http://studio-se22.com/cityscapes-and-local-landmarks/

  9. *** Update*** gift vouchers available for a painting class - ?25 each. If you know someone who may like to try a painting class on a wednesday afternoon from 2-4.30. I can either email you a gift voucher for them to bring along, or you can pick up a hard copy from my studio in SE22. classes will re-start in mid January and gift vouchers can be used any time from jan - march 2020. tel 07946577236
  10. We have a few items of antique furniture etc from my Mother-in-law which she is happy for us to sell but we have no idea how to value them - can anyone recommend an antique dealer who may be able to offer us some advice? It doesn't have to be a local dealer as I can email the images...

One piece is a Victorian or Edwardian writing box / writing slope, another is a clock, also chairs and china...

    thanks

  11. Thanks for your review, Sue. If anyone else is interested, we currently have several beginners and a couple of people with some experience of painting, and everyone has produced some really great results. I tend to teach the sort of creative and inventive techniques that are suitable for all levels. Classes are continuing every Wednesday from 2-4.30 and it's possible to do a 'drop in' session and pay on the day, to see whether it's for you.

If you'd like to know more, please send a pm or give me a call on 07946577236
