Wow, it is so nice to see all my suspicions confirmed. So far the other articles written about the house haven't gone full circle, but this one does. Thanks for scanning the article Huguenot! :)

I too have started a diet...thankfully it says if you really must have a drink, it'll have to be ice cold vodka - straight. Don't bother going to Waitrose in Beckenham - I have cleaned them out. It is all in my freezer now! :)-D

DM, you have gone awfully quiet. What is the verdict? Will you be partaking in another session with Captain Perkybutt?

What is a confirmed bachelor? Do they have to get that done by a vicar or parson?
-
I think the difference might be that the male would not be quite so vulnerable though...
-
I didn't get that til you replied Heidi...that's gross Mike! God, I'm going to have nightmares now! I really hope men don't think like that!
-
I totally agree, Legal. It's not been at all fair on Felicity for the last few pages. Some of you might call it stir-mongering, but she has so far protected this man's identity and merely pointed out what she knows first hand and, indeed, second hand of his shameful activities.

Not the last one, but I was at The Phoenix...

It depends if you are male or female, Chuff. I don't think the Lothario in question has been known to hit on men....yet. But he might have to after this, as his 'luck' is likely to change!!
-
Thanks for that, p_in_ed
It's good to see that they are tackling the land seperation issue with the CPO. The split looks much fairer now.
Bob, I haven't heard anything more from the journalist or the council - but that's ok. I can see they have been busy! But on another note - I just got back my building heritage coursework (which was all about this house) and got 92%!!! So thank you all for helping me along the way. :))

Anyone remember the man who demolished his landlord's house with a digger? He got 6 years...in prison. ::o
-
Can I re-wind this a bit....?
SimonM's comment was about the ex-owner sending round a demolition team one day out of spite. To which I commented that if he does, he'll end up in prison.
I'm not a lawyer and have never claimed to be one, but if someone goes and deliberately knocks something down that doesn't belong to them any more - I'm pretty sure they'd end up in prison. Trespass, criminal damage, demolition of a listed building without consent all spring to mind and there are probably more. I don't think I'm confused, I think I have been misunderstood.

Well Macroban...(isn't that a brand of household disinfectant???)
I think you are rude.

The primary legislation is The Planning (Listed Buildings and Conservation Areas) Act 1990. Secondary legislation with The Listed Buildings Act. And various case law examples.
It is a criminal offence to carry out almost any works to a listed building without having obtained consent.
Google the case - he was demanded to re-build exactly as was, or face going to prison. Rather generous of them to give him a choice, I think!
Still, he hasn't done it so he must think they're bluffing. We'll have to see what happens.

Check out what Wandsworth Council are doing to the 'silent' partner of the owner of our concrete house...google Rajiv Laxman. He has demolished a listed building in their borough without permission and will go to prison if he doesn't re-build it exactly as was. And time is running out...
-
He'll end up in prison if he does - (hope he's taking note!!!)

Oh my God! That is such fantastic news!!!
I am a little bit speechless...David Trayner was the journalist I had spoken to - as you can see, his story is much more interesting!
We'll have to toast this tomorrow night at the Cherry!
-
Thanks p-in-ed.
Not quite the exciting article I was anticipating from the SLP. The first journalist that got in touch seemed to have a whole new angle and this story is rather tame. But never mind - at least they are raising the profile of the place.
Simon's right, ?75k will go nowhere. But a minimum ?20 per annum donation buys membership to the Heritage for London Trust (HOLT) and helps fund the projects that they undertake. I joined...

Why don't we agree not to order the lethal, yet lovely, cocktails then? Would be a shame for people not to come cos they are worried about service.
Angela is lovely and will pull out the stops for us - I know it!
Hope to see you all there.

That police officer was me.... ;-)

I left a message for the journalist this afternoon. He hasn't called back as yet. Funny, cos this is someone different. The other journalist was called David.
-
Oh my god! I have to leave right now....off to the supermarket. Thanks Mr Ben and Keef. You have made my day!!! :))
-
Oooh....beef monster munch! I haven't had that in years! That was the ulitmate. Can you still get it? I haven't seen it anywhere...:(

Oh my....
Dulwich Doll and Who-cares - you really shouldn't rule out the social EDF events. At the end of the day - we are all people who have opinions on life in Dulwich and therefore have something in common.
I have only managed to get to one event and can't wait to pick up where I left off after my exams. Everyone I met - and a lot were regular posters - were lovely, very welcoming, charming, funny and interesting. In no way were they clique-y or bullying.
Don't cut off your nose/s to spite your face/s.
