  1. Oh my....

Dulwich Doll and Who-cares - you really shouldn't rule out the social EDF events. At the end of the day - we are all people who have opinions on life in Dulwich and therefore have something in common.

I have only managed to get to one event and can't wait to pick up where I left off after my exams. Everyone I met - and a lot were regular posters - were lovely, very welcoming, charming, funny and interesting. In no way were they clique-y or bullying.

Don't cut off your nose/s to spite your face/s.

    :)

  2. I too have started a diet...thankfully it says if you really must have a drink, it'll have to be ice cold vodka - straight. Don't bother going to Waitrose in Beckenham - I have cleaned them out. It is all in my freezer now! :)-D
  3. I totally agree, Legal. It's not been at all fair on Felicity for the last few pages. Some of you might call it stir-mongering, but she has so far protected this man's identity and merely pointed out what she knows first hand and, indeed, second hand of his shameful activities.
  4. Thanks for that, p_in_ed

It's good to see that they are tackling the land seperation issue with the CPO. The split looks much fairer now.

Bob, I haven't heard anything more from the journalist or the council - but that's ok. I can see they have been busy! But on another note - I just got back my building heritage coursework (which was all about this house) and got 92%!!! So thank you all for helping me along the way. :))

  5. Can I re-wind this a bit....?

SimonM's comment was about the ex-owner sending round a demolition team one day out of spite. To which I commented that if he does, he'll end up in prison.

I'm not a lawyer and have never claimed to be one, but if someone goes and deliberately knocks something down that doesn't belong to them any more - I'm pretty sure they'd end up in prison. Trespass, criminal damage, demolition of a listed building without consent all spring to mind and there are probably more. I don't think I'm confused, I think I have been misunderstood.

  6. The primary legislation is The Planning (Listed Buildings and Conservation Areas) Act 1990. Secondary legislation with The Listed Buildings Act. And various case law examples.

It is a criminal offence to carry out almost any works to a listed building without having obtained consent.

Google the case - he was demanded to re-build exactly as was, or face going to prison. Rather generous of them to give him a choice, I think!

Still, he hasn't done it so he must think they're bluffing. We'll have to see what happens.

  7. Thanks p-in-ed.

Not quite the exciting article I was anticipating from the SLP. The first journalist that got in touch seemed to have a whole new angle and this story is rather tame. But never mind - at least they are raising the profile of the place.

Simon's right, ?75k will go nowhere. But a minimum ?20 per annum donation buys membership to the Heritage for London Trust (HOLT) and helps fund the projects that they undertake. I joined...

If I ever end up in rehab, I want to be there with you!
