  1. I know they're a bit more pricey but I have found Sainsburys Local to be better stocked than DKH in a few of those things - there was plenty of veg, tea, coffee, eggs, meat, fish today (not loo roll!!)

I bought loo roll from a local independent - I was charged the RRP of ?2.50 as printed on the pack for 4 rolls of Andrex. I admit I bought 2 packs but there were still plenty on the shelves - again, a bit more pricey but worth it!

The Camberwell coop is also doing this now. Exciting times, being 10 mins walk away from a JLP collection point rather than a 20 min bus ride away!

  3. Has anyone had a situation similar to this? Or can anyone advise?

The bath waste still turns on the side of the tub but the actual plug has totally "gone" - would it be possible to either a) just buy a plug replacement, and if so, where from; or b) buy the whole thing but just use the new plug part? And if so, where from?

    (I've already tried screwfix/toolstation/b&q etc)

    TIA!

  4. Thanks bobbsy, yes, for my very cold ground floor I?m going with both. Makes sense for me so I can, for example, set the UFH to come on and heat downstairs when the rest of the house doesn?t warrant turning on the CH. All a bit hypothetical at the moment anyway as UFH not yet connected and radiators not yet installed!
  5. In case it helps anyone, I ended up going with PlumbNation as they had some decent Stelrads with reasonably fast delivery (although it turns out the radiators weren?t as urgent as the builders had suggested - in fact, they?re still in boxes...)
  6. Thanks for the suggestions.

Although I?m having a rethink as people are saying there?s no point having radiators and UFH. I thought having both would be a good idea, they?d be used at different times / seasons in different ways - time for some BTU calculations!

  7. Loving this thread!

When I?ve got the charger I have to hope the player still works... if not, RichH, I might beg some help from you... there?s just a couple that are mixes not albums which I?d really like to be able to listen to / get the playlist for.

    Thanks all, happy reminiscing!

  8. Turns out subtel specialise in selling stuff for older gadgets - I called them, UK number but based in Berlin, and all seemed very legit 🤞🏽

Are there services who would actually take all my CDs and transfer to digital (iTunes or similar)? What would it cost for c.300 CDs? I?ve never got round to it and just figured that at some point I?ll get them all on Spotify. What would you do?

  9. Anyone remember minidiscs? I just found all mine and the player/ recorder too (a Sharp MS701) but sadly no charger. Tried eBay and gumtree but don?t think I?ll be able to source one so may have to bin the lot. Very sad!
  10. The session on 21st at Bell House was excellent, thanks for the recommendation. I?ve got an email with the presentations if anyone wants a copy - send me a PM.

In terms of progress, it turns out we weren?t as sorted as I thought - one of my sisters questioned why our parents wanted me to be their attorney and the other sister refused to be a joint and several replacement with the first one! We?ve got through it and agreed who is doing what but it took a lot of patience and time for talking. I?ll still be the attorney as that is what my parents want and instead of sisters being replacement attorneys (also known as reserve attorneys) it will be my niece and nephew - both 21 and willing and able to represent each sister?s views - and, a relatively hypothetical role, assuming I don?t pop my clogs before my parents...

Next steps are to fill in the forms and get the signatures in the right order (very important) and also to have a discussion with mum and dad to understand their wishes - we will do advanced statements (not legally binding) instead of advanced decisions (legally binding) in order that there is no conflict with the LPAs. (If you have both LPA and advanced decision docs then only the one with the latest date will be used)

Hope this is of some use to someone at some point.

  11. Hi, reaching the end of my ability to help but agree with Kalamity that word and adobe are not the same!

To do the reinstall that I was suggesting. Go to HP website and search for your printer. Opt to download software or drivers and then it will ask if you want to uninstall old - then follow instructions (I think that?s what I did anyway)
