I have only ever had one nappy leak, I think it was a Nature Babycare one when my daughter was just a couple of weeks old and doing really explosive poos.

We tried reusables from the Southwark nappy voucher scheme, but I just found it all too much of a juggling act with work and household chores, so disposables have been fine instead. The waste does bother me, but we are very thrifty on our other waste, so it's all about a balance. Sainsbury's Eco are our preferred choice.

portable DVD player, now there's a thought. we have to do a long flight to india this summer which i'm totally dreading, i think i might have to use this as an excuse to splash out on an iPad!

We haven't babyproofed anything in our house, we have taught our daughter which are the no-go areas and she is fine with that. She's bumped herself maybe once on a table edge, but nothing more than that. Of course we keep an eye on her whilst in the house, but then we have a small place so that is mostly easy, and I've moved the bleach out of the way, just in case! I find that teaching her about safety is very useful for when we're out and about, particularly as in the big wide world, not every plug socket is covered, nor is every sharp edge covered in comfy foam.

Letters, that sounds pretty much similar to what we pay for childcare. Our nursery is ?59 a day. We pay our babysitters ?5 an hour but I use teenagers for my toddler so it's cheaper. When our daughter was younger, we used a registered childminder and she was ?7.50 an hour for evening babysitting. Babysitting rates really vary, I think ?10 an hour is a bit steep, unless the sitter is first aid qualified etc.

That might seem like a lot of stress to pile on a young child, but such is the nature of the private school system unfortunately. Competition is fierce to get a place at the school, so a 4 year old would have to be well prepared to pass the entrance test requirements.

yep i would never intervene in such an occasion. i can't really see why that was mentioned above as it's obvious no-one in their right mind would bother interfering with a car break-in unless it was their own car. just not worth taking the risk of someone pulling a knife on you or something similar.

jalapeno, you can't be too surprised that no-one accosted him, as you yourself didn't want to interrupt his tampering with your car. passers-by have families too, it's just not worth intervening, the most you could have done is called the police there and then. always worth reporting these incidents!

Yes I didn't understand what the point of posting this was. Of course it's not just you that thinks this is an inappropriate comment, but far better to speak to the woman about her actions instead of bringing it up on here which is a bit like pi**ing into the wind.

Who cares what a bunch of people on the internet think about breastfeeding? Breastfeeding mums, keep up the good work you are doing and ignore all the miserable childhaters out there! I breastfeed my daughter discreetly anywhere and everywhere and couldn't give a toss what people say or whether I should ask permission first.

I just found the comment highly offensive, then she blamed it on hackers. Which may be true, but it was quite a statement to make nonetheless.

I'm still quite disturbed by lilly123's comment. Hacking is commonplace, but do hackers really bother to post inflammatory comments on the forum? Most perplexing!

I don't think an accurate assessment of a person's trustworthiness can really be made from a photo on a web site.

I use Pickwicks to let my property and have found Adam to be very trustworthy and easy to deal with.

I think the chef in Magnolia is pretty tasty ;-)
