  1. Anyone know what happened on Camberwell Road yesterday? I was going up towards the Oval and on the left side there was a very large area being taped off by police, a jacket and a converse boot on the road and a lot of blood. Can't work out why one converse and why all the houses taped off!
  2. Does anyone know what happened on the Walworth Road this afternoon at Tesco Met? I went past there and there were LOADS of police and paramedics and resuss kit kind of abandoned right by the cash point. Forensics were already inthe store? Gut feeling was it was a shooting but seeing as its the end of the month could have been a heart attack brought on by a balance enquiery...who knows in these deep dark mysterious areas that we roam?
  3. Just been told by the bank that my card has been cloned and I think I have traced it back to Sunday morning when I tried to use Barclays cashpoint on 'the lane'. I thought it a bit wierd as it took my pin number then said it couldn't dispense any cash - not due to my finances - surely it would have said out of order, or whatever, before you put the card in and give pin number. I did completely cover my hand so god knows how they do it now-a-days. Anyone else had any probs?
  4. I think it would be great if you ask people to leave pushchairs outside or have an area for them. I am all for family friendly places but I do get a bit fed up at having to climb over push chairs and each time I have ever gone to Pizza Express I have actually had to stand up to let pushchairs out. That is a really crowded restaurant with all the tables crammed in. They do provide a space for pushchairs but there are some people who just don't think of others and do what they want regardless. I really object to having to squeeze in or actually stand up and move my chair whilst in the middle of my meal. Will never go there again. Still i guess children are their main market.
  5. I was told by a council worker in the park that he had been told not to open the park as it was too dangerous. At this point I WAS in the park having squeezed through the railings. I then phoned the council to complain and was again told it was for health and safety reasons that Peckham Rye was closed. All the parks in Camden were shut on Monday for this very reason. Hazzardous parks they are don't cha know......
  6. I was told yesterday morning by a council worker in the park that he had been told not to open the park as it was too dangerous!! I then phoned the council to complain (I was however in the park at this point having squeezed through the railings) Still points needed to be made. Again I was told on the phone that it was a health and safety issue. All the parks in Camden were closed on Monday for this reason. Tretcherous those parks are....
  7. There should be a piece in The Evening Standard's later edition on Peckham Rye being closed today. It's hilarious that they can close all the school in the area and the parks? All due to snow. Still they don't bother gritting the pavements and roads!! Someone somewhere has made the very important decision that today NOONE is allowed to have anyfun.....
