  1. Dulwich Players - Compleat Female Stage Beauty - 14th to 17th February, Edward Alleyn Theatre

Compleat Female Stage Beauty is a witty, fast paced and powerful production, which combines outrageous humour with genuinely moving scenes. It?s 1661 and in the theatre all female roles are still played by men. Renowned interpreter of Shakespeare?s heroines, actor Edward Kynaston is the toast of the town ? until Charles II decrees that women, including his own mistress, Nell Gwynn, can take to the stage. After losing his fame, his lover, and finally his pride, Kynaston must adapt to this strange new world and find his place in society. This play contains adult themes and humour and is appropriate for 15 yrs +.
