I would say fairly soon as the investors have been getting itchy teeth for quite a while now.

On another note, whichever way this went, the astro turf would not have been left as a free for all much longer regardless of the decision last night.

  2. Knowing Ben quite well, he does not really do 'grumpy'.

He has however patiently and diligently answered all the questions that been asked over and over again (despite his answers not being accepted by some) so maybe you are getting 'grumpy' mixed up with 'exasperated'.

Thanks for your input Ben. It is appreciated.

  3. School charging issue is clarified here (link below). The club will be covering that cost which amounts to around 500k over ten years for local schools.

    __________________________________________________________________

"We got the council?s agreement to not charge the state schools and provide free access subsidised by the club. So number is on the plan but the school doesn?t pay. This had to be approved by council as a variation to their rate card."

"It?s part of the Sports England template business plan you have to submit for a development of a sporting facility. We then negotiated with the council to reverse that on the rate card and give it for free. You still have to give the commercial value, even if you offer for free."

My point is, something is going to be done with that land regardless. If it is refurbed, it will be fenced off, if Dulwich build their stadium, it will be fenced off.

The choice here is a derelict piece of astro turf which is not fit for purpose and the end of a 126 year old football club or a state of the art community and sports centre which anyone can use.

If the astro turf was ever refurbed to a high standard, it would be fenced off. The only reason it is not fenced off now is because of the state it is in.

The cost for keeping this current ground to an acceptable safety standard is, and will be a huge cost and will only increase year on year.

The current ground is a money swamp.

I was not a fan of the club when this ground was built (in 1982?) but I have been told by a lot of people it was built on the cheap and that is now showing.

The club and the trust have ensured the new design will be built at an acceptable standard of quality that will last years.

I do not have the costs to hand but we spent an absolute fortune making the club safe for fans after our return from Tooting and the club was only unoccupied for eight months

  7. I was quite heavily involved in the campaign against Meadows (nowhere near as involved as Tom) and I too have put all that behind me.

Holding it against them at this stage is not a battle that is going to be beneficial to the club when they are working with us as a partnership.

I am sure they have regrets at the way it was handled but the way forward is to leave that in the past and to work for the future of the club because without this development, the club has no future.

  9. At our home game against Hungerford Town, we will be collecting unwanted bicycles to be repaired and refurbished for refugees across London.

Towards the end of April, football clubs across the country ? from the Premier League to grassroots refugee teams ? will lay aside their rivalries and come together to celebrate the contribution refugee players have made, and continue to make, to the beautiful game. The ?Football Welcomes? weekend, promoted by Amnesty International UK, is scheduled for the weekend we play away at Weston Super-Mare.

We are delighted to announce that Dulwich Hamlet will be kick off this year?s campaign at our home game against Hungerford Town.

Following on from our successful bike collection for refugees in 2016, we will be holding another one on Saturday 13th April 2019.
