  1. It will solve it as it essentially makes Ryedale one way - why would you drive down Ryedale from FHR unless you live on Ryedale, Cornflower or Balchier? You can only turn right from the latter two so the closure will significantly reduce the number of cars and subsequently the number of road rage incidents. The road rage isn’t between neighbours, its drivers using Ryedale as a cut through.
  2. There is a large amount of support on Ryedale, particularly at the Forest Hill Road end where the road is narrower. It’s not just an issue of speed but the high number of cars passing through which leads to head on road blocks with severe incidents of road rage where drivers threaten other drivers with violence and shouting all sorts of obscenities, all in ear shot of families. Not to mention the regular damage to vehicles because of the number of cars trying to pass each other. It’s not acceptable and it is 100% necessary to implement some changes though a trial basis to see if these measures will reduce the volume of traffic.
  3. But I knew who the comment was made by so it’s not entirely anonymous. I’m not sure they would want thoughts that were shared between neighbours to be used as part of a wider discussion with the community. Please consider removing. Thanks.
  4. As a member of the Ryedale WhatsApp group, I am not entirely uncomfortable with the use of messages between residents from October 2024 being used on a public forum. Interested to hear if you have advised the neighbour that you are using their comment?
  5. I booked a collection on the 6th Jan and put the tree out as advised but it hasn’t been collected. And unlike previous years there was no limit on the size of the tree and no request to cut in half if over a certain size. There’s a real mixture of tree sizes on our road so they just don’t seem to have got around to collecting them yet.

Quite > crass. Well, as this is the East Dulwich Forum and there are a number of top private schools in East Dulwich, this is a perfectly legitimate place to ask such questions. My son is at one of these schools and 95% of his classmates and peers in his year group live in Dulwich, so there are a lot of local families who would be able to contribute as they are likely to have had the same discussion, as I know we did. If the subject of ?private schools? could be viewed as a trigger then the poster has helpfully included it in the subject so people can avoid the thread if they wish to/feel private school kids have a sense of superiority.
  7. I've sent you a PM

I?m not sure there are any cameras despite signs that there are - I haven?t seen any when I?ve walked through the village near the top of Gallery Road. A friend drove through a couple of weeks during the restricted times and hasn?t received a fine.
  9. Are you looking for nurseries or pre-prep schools?

  12. Hi, we've just moved to ED and I'm looking for a nursery place for my 3 year old. We recently visited Piplings and loved the setting but am a bit concerned by some previous threads I've seen re management and staff turnover. I would be grateful for anyone's recent experiences and also if someone could send me a copy of their terms and conditions. The admissions team appear to be reluctant to provide this prior to applying for a place. Many thanks
