  1. I've heard it is not looking positive with respect to TigerSharks future at Alleyns. Does anyone know any other clubs in the area suitable for teenagers who do not want to swim competitively but still would like structured sessions and to improve?
  2. I have received a response from the council this morning: Camberwell Leisure Centre, Dulwich Leisure Centre, The Castle Centre, Peckham Pulse Leisure Centre, Seven Islands Leisure Centre, Surrey Docks Fitness and Watersports Centre, Geraldine Mary Harmsworth Sports Facility and Southwark Athletics Centre, which are managed by sports and leisure operator Everyone Active on behalf of Southwark Council, will reopen their doors on Saturday 1 August. The leisure centres will be opened using a phased approach to further ensure the safety of customers. The swimming pool facilities at these centres will be reopening for lane swimming and clubs from Thursday 20 August, with a lane booking system in place. The Everyone Active Learn to Swim Programme will also commence from Saturday 22 August. All customers will be communicated to directly regarding the details for reopening.

  4. I've just heard Dulwich Leisure centre is opening on Saturday for everything except pools, pool opening to follow "shortly after". Official communication to follow shortly apparently.

  6. Council response this morning: "I have passed your emails on to our leisure department. They are finalising next steps with EA to gain some clarity before responding to emails."

I emailed him yesterday. Is he on this forum?

  10. See this twitter thread. It really does sound like Everyone Active have demonstrated to the council through video tours, that they are ready to open, and the council are essentially now refusing to comment.

  13. That makes me livid. I cancelled my existing gym membership in order to join Dulwich Leisure Centre, so I would do the "right thing" and not need to use public transport to get to the gym (my old gym is in central London). And now I can't go to any gym! I can't believe the lack of communication and forward planning here. I also think is disgraceful.
  14. Same line repeated by the council on twitter this morning "For the time being our leisure centres remain closed following the change in government guidance. We are working hard with Everyone Active, our leisure centre operator, to make our centres COVID-19 secure, ready for reopening. We will provide further updates as soon as possible." But Everyone Active say they are ready to open and are waiting for go ahead from the council
