  1. I have to say I am strongly in favour of vigilante action. Decent law abiding citizens have got to stand up and give these so called people a bloody good kicking. The hug a hodie tea and biscuits approach plainly does not work. Its the only language these "people" understand.
  2. No number 40 bus from the Library and no 176 (as at 6-30 am). There was a lorry stuck on Lordship lane Southbound where it starts to climb up towards the library causing chaos. I got the 185, which was diverted through peckham, and off at oval and onto the northern line. Total time to Bank 1.5 hours. Hate this - must get my motorbike fittes with stabilisers...
  3. Which restaurant would people suggest is the best in ED for giving one's girlfriend the old heave-ho? Obviously one doesn't want to make it too expensive, or be so cathedral-quiet that people might notice a scene.
  4. Yes. Not so sure that he is harmless. Last week I was sitting outside Liquorish, he sauntered past and helped himeslf to one of my cigarettes by simply leaning over the wall and taking the packet off the table. The bouncers intervened before anything kicked off. When he walked by ten minutes later I thought I'd run up behind him and nick his hat, which seemed like a fair swap to me. He went mental, needless to say, threatning to "fucking kill you" etc. I've now seen him shouting at a mother with a young child near Texaco petrol station. I couldn't be bothered to report him at the time - too many loonies in London - but if he's going to become a regular local feature perhaps something should be done. Easy enough to spot at least!
  5. Auberon Waugh once wrote that "Ripper" as in Yorkshire Ripper was superfulous. Simply describing him as "The Yorkshire" would convey the illicit nature of the activity just fine.

Anyway, as someone who has been at the wrong end of an encounter with these sorts of gangs myself, I'd hang them. I'm afraid too much tolerance/understanding has led to this sort of thing barely being news.

  6. I wouldn't bother - the Bishop is seriously awful, having been frquented by the sort of crowd that has now moved on the the Adventure bar (hideously short skirts, pitbulls etc) . Hard to believe its owned by the same lot who run the florence
