  1. Does anyone know of a local solicitor who can witness a Statutory Declaration? I've called about 10 local ones and the only 2 I've found (one in Forest Hill and one in Peckham) that do it charge 4 times the normal £5. thanks.
  2. thanks, Nicola - that’s what we thought too.
  3. We’re a group of 5 properties in SE22 who share buildings insurance. Our Insurer has advises that we all get fire extinguishers & fire blankets. Anyone know which type of extinguisher is best? Powder ones seem to get varied reviews on the sites I checked.. Also if you can suggest a good place to get them from that would be helpful. As there are 5 of us we’re hoping we may be able to find somewhere offering a bulk discount…
  4. Hi Sue Just to mention (if no-one has already) that if you decide to go from Denmark Hill, there seems to always be a lift out of order there. It’s been the same for months. I recently saw a very frail woman on her way to Kings who could barely walk having to negotiate the steps instead.
  5. Update - any ‘reviews’ of EE broadband would be useful as my phone account is with them so I may be able to bargain…
  6. hi Herrpaul Only just saw your message - is your skip still there?
  7. We’ve done all that - surprisingly few skips around at the mo (probably everyone is on holiday) hence this post!
  8. Thanks, everyone - that’s all very helpful info!
  9. Does anyone have a spare bit of plasterboard approx A3 size that they don’t need? We need to fill a small hole in our wall…. If so would you mind sending us a text on 07946577236 please? Many thanks.
  10. We want to change our broadband as Sky broadband has got too expensive - despite being long term customers and haggling with them (it was £44 pm) they still won't match several other providers 'new customer' offers. Can anyone recommend a better alternative? Thanks! Update - any ‘reviews’ of EE broadband would be useful as my phone account is with them so I may be able to bargain…
  11. I need to get an image printed on a man's long sleeve T-shirt to arrive by the end of this week. Any recommendations for t-shirt printing companies with a fast turnaround? I only need one printed.
  12. If you haven’t already done so, please Email your MP to ask them to safeguard creative rights in AI before the end of the Govt consultation on 25th Feb - the link below makes it super-easy - Enter your postcode below to use a simple email template to write to your local MP it takes less than 30 seconds! Please share this info too, thanks. https://creativerightsinai.eaction.org.uk/MP
  13. thanks for the comments so far. IanR - in answer, No he bought the items at the shop, at the time- not by click and collect which we realise may be an issue in a dispute but the whole transaction from leaving the car, buying items and bringing back to car and leaving took less than 5 minutes. My instinct is not to appeal and end up getting charged more, but he is keen to pursue as it's ridiculous to give a total time limit of 2 minutes!
  14. My partner parked in a loading bay in Orpheus Street SE5 to get some heavy items from Cowling & Wilcox Art Supplies for his business. The whole transaction took less than 5 minutes. He came back, loaded and left - with a fine for parking in a loading bay “without loading within 2 minutes”!! He made an online appeal but it was turned down- letter attached. I think the main points he contested are; You can’t walk to C&W, pick up a box and walk back in 2 minutes, so how can ‘evidence of loading be seen’ in that time? They were not ‘general domestic shopping.’ They were bulky and heavy. The vehicle was moved immediately on returning to it with the goods. So, he met ALL the criteria they have stipulated as reasons for issuing the PCN. If anyone has successfully or unsuccessfully appealed against a similar loading bay fine do let me know, thanks!
  15. My partner is a first time author and is interested in going to the London book fair. Have any other unpublished authors been and if so, would you say it's worth a visit? Hard to know from looking online as obviously it seems to be more geared towards other aspects of the industry for publishers, etc...
