Story Jam has been running nights in SE London and telling stories across the UK since 2012. We're back at The Palmerston again for more intimate, local nights through the winter. It’s cold and dark out there – come on in and join Story Jam’s Alys Torrance for a story upstairs in a cosy pub. Wed 12 Nov 7pm - 8.30pm Tix via eventbrite or on the door. £5 general admission, £10 concessionary rate (yep!) if life is treating you well. There are a few 2-for-1s available - treat a friend! https://WintersNightWonderTales.eventbrite.co.uk Alys has just one story for you, a good juicy one to give you a midweek boost to get you through to the weekend. We invite you to a sweet little hour-and-a-half including an interval - it's Wednesday, so we're not out-out! Mooch on home with plenty of time for a good night's sleep. Or maybe you'll take your ease downstairs in the pub for a while longer. November's old tale is all about the light and the darkness, and what happens when you smell fragrantly smoky. From a firelit hut to the huge night sky, it's all there in this myth to feed your soul, and light up your imagination. You are warmly invited to climb the stairs at the Palmerston, grab a drink and slip out of the everyday for an hour or so. More... Sun, Moon and the Wreathing Smoke A woman, a man and a snake. It's elemental. When a man lugs home yet more meat, it's going to take a whole lot of extra fire to get it roasted. The search for firewood leads a woman into the woods, and kindles an unexpected, not quite human love. And maybe she isn't quite human herself... A smoky tryst, a wild chase across a wide land, and a familiar face reflected in water in this big old fiery tale.
