Iyengar yoga classes in West Norwood

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I wanted to let you know about these local classes that I have been running now for almost 15 years. They're attended by experienced students and beginners and would suit anyone looking for a small class in a peaceful, equipped studio.

I teach Iyengar yoga, the method focuses on the body's alignment in classical postures to improve flexibility and strength. The classes are suitable for students of all levels of yoga experience with new things explained to beginners and points added for those with experience to deepen their practice.

These classes are dynamic, every class has a different sequence of postures, standing postures, seated twists and many other postures taught every class, each class ends with relaxation postures. Once a month we do a relaxation class which is a class devoted to supine postures, seated forward bends and inversions(for those who do them). This class is a chance to expedience a quiet practice and compliments the other active classes.

Classes are 5-8 students.

Your space needs to be booked in advance.

I also run a week-long yoga holiday in the Algarve every year which is a time to rest and relax, enjoy the sunny weather, the swimming pools, vegetarian food and last but not least do yoga every day. The holiday is suitable for all levels of yoga experience. Many students come back year after year, the holiday is now in it's 5th year and there are a few spaces left this July.

I look forward to hearing from you, please get in touch if you have any questions,

Layaly

    • I’m currently conducting exploratory research into menstrual health education in UK secondary schools and would really value the insight of PSHE leads, Heads of Year, or pastoral staff.    The research aims to understand:   How the menstrual cycle is currently taught within the RSHE framework Where schools feel confident — and where there may be gaps Whether students are taught and  asking questions around the full menstrual cycle, symptoms, wellbeing and conditions such as PMS/PMDD or endometriosis How schools support students in feeling empowered to understand their bodies and seek help appropriately Whether education around nutrition, lifestyle, and menstrual wellbeing is currently addressed   The long-term goal is to explore whether there is a need for additional, age-appropriate, medically informed support on the menstrual cycle.  I’m not selling a programme and there is no obligation beyond a 30 minute informal chat online (Unpaid). All conversations will be confidential and used only to inform the research. If you work in a UK secondary school and would be willing to share your perspective, I would be extremely grateful to hear from you. Please comment below or email me [email protected] Thank you for the vital work you do. Best wishes, Emma
    • Nice topic and nice song!  1) Definitely top of Canonbie, looking North. 2) What used to be Francesca Cabrini school at the top of FHR. 3) Honor Oak playground, next to Camberwell New cemetery.
