I posted a thread last week about Streetbank - a new website dedicated to helping communities lend, borrow and give away things and skills to their neighbours - and there's been a really encouraging response from people who've had a look at the site and signed up. The latest person to sign up has a 1 and 3 year old daughter - and has recently posted clothes to give away to a good home.

Really hope we get more and more members as word gets round...takes 3 minutes to sign on and who knows where it might lead...free stuff, more work/business opportunities - less waste - perhaps you'll even make a new friend or two in the process.... www.streetbank.com

I just wanted to give an update on Streetbank.com which is now really starting to take off in East Dulwich.

We've recently seen sombrero hats and piano's being lent and given away (in that order) and there have also been some very happy tales of new friendships forming as a result, too.

The more people who join, the better the site becomes so do please spread the word if you can. It's so easy to join and is a great way to bring communities together - as well as save money and energy too, of course.

Facebook, twitter and LinkedIn status updates for those who've joined seem to work really well. With each new member, the site becomes a little more useful and much more fun, too.

    • The purge of hard left members that were part of Corbyn's, Mcdonnel's and Lansmans momentum that purged the party of right wing and centrist members. That's politics. It's what Blair did to win, its what Starmer had to do to win. This country doesn't vote in extreme left or right governments. That's partly why Corbyn lost  We're pretty much a centrist bunch.  It doesn't make it false either. It's an opinion based on the voting patterns, demography and statistics. Can you explain then why former mining constituencies that despise the tories voted for them or abstained rather than vote for Corbyns Labour?  What is the truth then?
    • Depends on what the Barista says doesnt it? There was no physical confrontation with the driver, OP thinks she is being targetted when she isnt. These guys work min wage under strict schedules so give them a break unless they damage your stuff
    • CPR Dave, attendance records are available on Southwark's website. Maggie Browning has attended 100% of meetings. Jon Hartley has attended 65%.
    • I do hope NOT, wouldn't trust Farage as far as I could throw him, Starmer & co.  He's backed by GB News which focus's predominantly on immigration while the BBC focus predominantly on the Israel - Gazza conflict.
