In all fairness at the crutches stage the bus did empty rather quickly as I got on... can't imagine why ;-)

I walk with a stick and usually on the bus I get offered a seat, normally by a woman. I sometimes take the seat but other times the seat is so low I have a job to get back up. I thank the person and state that having only a few stops to go, I would rather stand.

When I was around 7 months pregnant (many moons ago) I worked in Westminster and usually had to stand on the bus from Dulwich onwards. I got fed up having to stand the majority of the journey so made sure that my bump nudged a seated male passenger until he got fed up reading his paper and gave me a seat.

Why specifically a male passenger?

    • But people getting up for work or if they’re a carer having to get up after a few hours sleep would know it’s gone 11pm as they’re kept awake by selfish people!
    • I agree. Midnight I can understand when it's celebrating the start of a new year (under whatever system) but not otherwise. Though re the wildlife, it's going to affect them whatever time it is, I don't suppose they know it's gone 11pm!
    • Looking for someone naughty on the ground? What other reason would there be, if it hasn't landed anywhere?
    • Yes I get your gist, but maybe you could just name a few of the very many you mention? I'm not sure why you find it very concerning that somebody would leave Labour for the Greens? So have many people, including me.
