Looking for an experienced professional nanny with UK experience of babies and toddlers


Live-in nanny with sole charge of Abigail from c.7.30 am to c.7.30pm Monday to Friday whilst both parents work, with up to 2 evenings babysitting.pick up and drop off for Giovanna who goes to school 9-4 and if needed taking her to classes etc when required


Nanny can stay or go home on weekends as preferred (early finish on Friday negotiable). Occasional weekends / overseas trips by mutual arrangement and with plenty of notice


Calm and patient persona, who believes in maintaining and developing a clear routine with babies to help them learn, develop and flourish


Energetic ?self-starter? who will proactively organize and manage baby?s development alongside parents


English as first language preferred, and non-smoker essential


Driving not essential as almost all activities are local to Orpington


Fit and active Nanny who enjoys walking and the outdoors preferred


Nanny Duties


preparation of varied nutritious and healthy meals for both baby and toddler


Ensuring fresh air and good walks every day, with active play at home and in the garden


Bathing, story time and putting to bed during the week


Taking baby swimming and finding / taking to other local activities and classes


Arranging and taking to play-dates with friends in due course


Responsibility for family laundry and tidying up toys after the children and cleaning where required when kids make a mess .A separate cleaner is employed.


Doctor, Dentist, hairdresser etc appointments as necessary


Accommod-ation


4 bedroom house on quiet street with big sized garden


Nanny room is fully furnished with everything you need .


Timing


Start late April / early May 2016


Mother is returning to work at end of May, and would like to have a handover period with new nanny


Seeking to appoint someone with at least a 2-3 year duration in mind

    • They'd been there for days but I hadn't tied them to this thread. Nice work, it was bugging me!
    • Off topic, but when I was a kid in Streatham, long ago, apart from the milkman (rarely if ever milkwoman),  who also delivered yoghurt - very exotic - in little glass jars, we also had regular deliveries of coal, bread and cheesecakes (not the kind we know now, they had coconut on top), fruit and veg,  and paraffin (both pink and blue). I'm not entirely sure we have lost "something amazing" by buying milk in shops. The glass bottles were left on the doorstep and the metallic tops were pecked through by birds getting at the cream/milk. Or else the bottles were nicked.  And then there was the rag and bone man.... bell and horse and cart, just like Steptoe. God I'm old. We didn't have supermarket deliveries. We didn't have supermarkets. I remember the first supermarket opening in Streatham. It  was quite amazing having to walk round and  put your own shopping in a basket. As you were .....     • Yep, I hear you. Been waiting for modern milkman to these parts and plan to try them out. I still remember Dennis, our Egg-man, from my childhood, who used to deliver dozens in his Citroen 2C and came to collect the boxes the following week. Happy Days. 
    • I always feel we lost something amazing when we moved away from home milk delivery with glass bottles using electric floats to driving to supermarkets and buying milk in plastic bottles. Hindsight says we should have valued the good old milky more
