Okay, okay - I know this is a much loved subject - but I just wondered whether your child had ever done this. We seem to have gone from the sublime to the cor blimey. A few weeks ago #1 child was not interested in potty training at all - now she wants to go to the toilet every five minutes (even at night). I figure there's an aspect of sibling jealousy here. When she's on the toilet she gets our undivided attention. Also she gets stickers for a chart which is very appealing. Most times she actually produces something - sometimes you know she's just delaying bedtime.

Any tips on overcoming this?

We went through this with our son - he was up umpteen times in the night saying he needed the toilet, would sometimes manage a little drip, yet was still very wet in the morning. Very difficult situation as you can't really say no to them. Thankfully after a few weeks of nights where it felt like having a newborn again he seemed to calm down again, and these days doesn't get up in the night at all.

Hopefully she'll simply get through this phase like he did! Son was just under 2.5 when he was potty trained, and this phase happened a couple of months into it.

    • Loving the arm chair speculation on here  Blimey how long before this gets spun out to be a drug dealer welding a sawn off whilst driving away from a smash and grab at the coop cash machine flipped his car and landed on a bollard type post  Where's the green cross code man when you need him ?
    • If you haven't already watched this totally shocking docudrama on Channel 4 then make sure you watch it and tell everyone you know to watch It It lays bare the scandalous, harmful and lethal  (in some cases) behaviour of the water companies since privatisation.  I for one didn't realise that the water companies pay the regulator/environment agency to regulate them in one mega conflict of interest.   This is as shocking as the post office/postmasters scandal with even more far reaching consequences.
    • We have been going to Franklins for many years. On the whole we have found both the food and service extremely good,  and good value for money, but there have been one or two low points, including unfortunately a very expensive but disappointing  meal with friends which I was paying for. I think it may depend on who is in the kitchen. We had a really excellent meal from their Christmas menu before Christmas this year, which for the quality of the food and cooking we didn't feel was expensive at all. I think it would be a real shame if it was turned into a pub. It isn't that kind of place. That's why we like it.
