sillywoman
We usually holiday in northern France & I've been wondering about biting the bullet & getting wetsuits for the children as they love to go in the sea. What I wondered is - are they worth the outlay? Would they make a substantial difference to their warmth & comfort? If they are worth it, can anyone recommend a particular brand, or place to get them from? Thanks SW. candj
Can definitely say that a wetsuit makes a difference in terms of not feeling freezing cold waters. They are expensive for kit used only on holidays - perhaps try ebay? Good luck and have fun! Fuschia
By the time you pay postage on ebay, decathlon works out about the same price Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/10278-wetsuits-are-they-worth-it/#findComment-303428 Share on other sites

Fuschia
Indeed! Though the suits I've bought via ebay have always been as new, TBH Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/10278-wetsuits-are-they-worth-it/#findComment-303438 Share on other sites

The Nappy Lady
....and just to add, we got one of the baby wetsuits for our little one for Spain last year as we knew the swimming pool was unheated, and cold to be in, despite air temperature.....it made a huge difference and she spent three times as long in the water when she had it on, so I think they are well worth while for very little ones too.Molly Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/10278-wetsuits-are-they-worth-it/#findComment-303470 Share on other sites

sillywoman
OK, so shortie suits or full length? Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/10278-wetsuits-are-they-worth-it/#findComment-303488 Share on other sites
Fuschia
Shorties much easier to get on. Suit needs to be snug to be warm. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/10278-wetsuits-are-they-worth-it/#findComment-303495 Share on other sites
candj
Oh come on Sillywoman, we girls look fab in wetsuits (the full body ones) - a mostly black catsuit that sucks you in in all the right places - what more could you ask for!? Bring on the Camembert! Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/10278-wetsuits-are-they-worth-it/#findComment-303513 Share on other sites
sillywoman
It would need to be full length & boned by a professional corsetier (with some uplift padding in appropriate places) to get me into one! The beach is a trial at the best of times. No way. candj
Well, I must confess that I haven't been in a wetsuit since I was in my (early) twenties which was a looong time ago.
