Recommendations: cottage near London, dog friendly?

Would love to go for a long weekends at a cottage somewhere not too far from London... But problem is I am not from the UK and have zero idea where to go. Any ideas? Must be dog friendly and kid friendly!

we used SYKES COTTAGES several times to rent cottages and spent on lovely Easter in Whitstable where we rented a dog friendly cottage

also a National Trust property in Surrey but cant remember where it was- but national trust rent out some dog friendly places.
