Curtain maker, or Installer

I am currently deciding whether to have bespoke curtains made to measure with a company that does a site measure and install, or whether I go down the online route and then need to buy a track and have someone install it and the curtains.

This is a tricky decision as I am Interior Designer and although I have access to trade priced fabrics, the curtain makers I have used for work are still out of my price range. As such I am looking for either-

- A reasonably priced curtain maker who can ideally come and site measure (and install if possible)

- Or an installer who can fix the track (and potentially recommend a track supplier?), and install curtains if I go down the online route.

Thanks so much. Look forward to any responses.

Large retailers will usually leave you in disappointment. We bought some made to measure curtains for our living room and my son's bedroom and I couldn't be more pleased! I went to a independent curtain shop near where I live in Rotherham, I would always choose a smaller store that specialises in interior design.

    • Thanks penguin  always wondered about that place and that’s way more info than I ever thought I would get  (used to live above a gun nut on friern road - he would tell me nothing)
    • There was a Saturday afternoon crowd of enthusiasts, and at other times the owner might have been off acquiring stock. He also repaired air guns, which he also sold. He stocked edged weapons, uniforms, including antique uniforms, air guns and ammo and starting pistols and shot. Some medals and other militaria. Quite a lot of ex service chit chat on a Saturday. I had an amateur interest, didn't deal a lot, in English pattern swords and other mainly 19th century militaria. And made some good purchases there. I'm afraid WWII and later events was the major focus of most of the regulars.
