Hi,

In October we are going over to the US for a wedding, and I am planning on taking out maxi-cosi infant car seat with us for our baby who will be about 5 months by then. Does anyone know if there are any differences in the law when it comes to using a car seat over in the USA? I was hoping on just using the seat belt to strap the car seat in.

If anyone has taken a car with them to the US, I would love to know how it worked!

Thanks, Sophie

Hi Sophie,

I don't think you'll have a problem with the car seat. Am currently in the US and the car seat that my folks have straps in using the seat belt. They have one that can be strapped in facing the seat or facing the front. Be aware that if you are using a car that has side airbags, the car seat will need to be strapped in the middle and not lay flush on the seat. You can use towels to even it out better.

    • I've seen my cat many times walk straight past a fox, at less than half a metre separation. both animals ignored each other.
    • The young ones can bite car tyres around this time of year - I assume they do it for the thrill of the hiss or something like that.  We had a spate of damaged tyres and thought it was a disturbed person or at a stretch an environmental protestor taking it too far, but caught a fox on a house camera.
