Has anyone tried Trunki cases for kids? We've got a couple of big trips this year with a 2 year old who just loves bags and would love to pull or ride on the Trunki. But how practical is it? Does it fall over if you pull it too fast (without the weight of a kid)? Is it acceptable as carry on luggage on long-haul? Be so handy for her toys and nappies on a long flight http://www.trunki.co.uk/

We took one to NZ, it's the first time we had done the trip with a Trunki. I found it had pros and cons...

They are fine as carry on luggage, and hold quite a lot. Difficult to pack neatly due to the shape inside where the wheels are, but we used ours for a change of clothes and the kids toys and it was fine. You have to make sure it's up the right way when you open it, otherwise everything falls out (learnt that one the hard way!).

Ours was used extensively while in transit at Singapore as a ride-on. You do have to be a bit careful not to go too fast as they can topple over. We found that after a while our 3 year old complained that his legs were tired due to having to move them all the time (design fault - they need some kind of little foot rest). Both kids enjoyed pulling it along, although it did cause a LOT of arguments!

They are a bit bulky and uncomfortable to carry in the instances that you're not wheeling them along.

All in all it was useful, and a bit of a novelty item for the kids. Feel free to come and have a closer look at ours (which is still full of all our things despite being home for a week now - house renovations mean I haven't been able to unpack!).

I think you've confirmed my suspicions Pickle, thanks. I'll get her a little wheelie bag instead - cheaper too probably. I hope your house is finished soon, we had builders in our house a couple of years ago when we went away for a month and when we got back, they hadn't done any of the major messy work as they had a question and didn't want to call us on holiday! I trust you had more luck with yours!

    • I would leave London, or at a push move back to north London. In SE London if you want to get away in a car you are trapped, always an hour to go the first 10 miles, chugging up to the M4 or round the south circular, which is really just a line someone drew connecting a load of roads. and I know there are trains but first you have to get to those mainline stations, unless you only want to leave London to go to Kent. which I don't.
    • It was you who  made it personal in the first place,  Jazzer. You said you didn't feel safe in the streets,  and you said you didn't go to Central London because you didn't feel safe there. So are you now saying that wasn't "personal"? "Fire from the hip." Another interesting choice of words 🙄 I'm not "demanding" anything! I asked you some perfectly reasonable questions in  response to your own statements. None of which you have answered. Never mind. It seems to be pointless having a discussion with you. It's long past my bedtime. I'm going to turn on my sleep app  and go to sleep 😴💤
    • Hi Forumites, This afternoon someone in a dark blue/black saloon car collided with my parked car on Thompson Road, SE22 9JR. I have a neighbour’s doorbell cam footage of the collision at 14:30 19/09/2025 but am unable to identify the registration plate. If anyone has footage of a car travelling down Thompson Road towards Crystal Palace Road at that time please PM me. Of course if the Perp would like to confess they can also PM me. Thankyou.
