Just to let you know that the Girl Guide Movement are holding various Centenary Events.

The 8th East Dulwich Brownie Pack and Guide Company are holding a small 'party' on Sat. 1st May 2010 from 2 - 5pm

at Christ Church Barry Road. SE 22.

They hope to arrange a memorial to Mary Ball (known as 'Littlecap' to those of us who were in the pack)who died 3/4/09.

Please bring a small amount of refreshments with you and also any photos of guide camps etc.

We have worked out that those of us who remember 'Littlecap' were in the Brownies/Guides in early 1960s and 1970s.

All ex Brownies/Guides welcome - no need to book.

This was the pack that met up at Emmanuel Church Barry Road - now known as Christ Church.

Anyone recall Marjorie Walsh, Kate Morley, Janet Cregan, Jean Halden (Brown Owl)?

Or later entrants with Chris Budasz, Vicky Coy, Kathryn Taras?

I went to a reunion there last year and saw loads of faces from previous generations.

    • Many decades  ago (not in London)  I tried to take my cat for a walk like that. He didn't like it at all! I never tried again!
    • You've revived a 16 year old thread to plug your business?! I'm genuinely impressed!
    • Jon and his Team came over today to clear two gutters at front of the house.  Job completed professionally and quickly, very friendly and reasonable prices.  Will be using again in the future. Highly recommend.    Jon - 07908 953257 https://www.jonsmithscleaningservices.co.uk
    • In deed.   An hour is optimistic. I'd always use the train/tube, so many options from the slowish Picadilly, quick Heathrow Express and Lizzy line in the middle. In the old days I'd go out to Feltham via Clapham Junction and either get a cab from there or the bus to avoid central London Alternatively 3 hours by bus only Or a couple of hours by bike, I have cycled there a few times including illegally going through the tunnel as it is so bike unfriendly.
