Southwark Cyclists are running their Bike Train up to town on a Sunday so that this "bit of inside knowledge" (as one rider called it) can be shared as widely as possible. Starts 10am from where the Bike Train starts in Peckham -- by the bike stands behind McDonalds in Rye Lane. Expected to finish in the same place 12ish

Ride Leader Bruce Lynn will take riders up to Blackfriars Bridge by the Bike Train route of two parks, a traffic-calmed backstreet, the cycling lanes on the New Kent Road, the Elephant and Castle by-pass and then the lovely new cycle lanes over the river.

He will (probably) then sweep west along the segregated route on the Embankment to Westminster. At Westminster Bridge he's got a choice He may turn right and head for St James' Park and Birdcage Walk (maybe do a circuit when the roads are closed to traffic on a Sunday). Or he may turn over the bridge and come back along the south bank, past the Eye, the Festival Hall, the National Theatre etc. Or both.

What he will choose will probably depend on the weather and what everyone wants to do.

All welcome. Bring bigger kids or have a nice time without them. You can let us know you are coming or just turn up.

    • Between Herne Hill and North Dulwich gives you good options for transport. You have the line into London Bridge, trains to Victoria and the Thameslink into City Thameslink. Plus it's not too far from Brixton tube.
    • Wow - will do as you say - just find it extraordinary one needs to post something so trivial as this on forum - each to their own. Been a%member for a long time and know the-forum well - bought sold, given things way, had hubs and offered advice…
    • You do know that this post is the reason that forums exist? So that people can ask for help, advice etc.  I'm not sure what "...daughter of mothers"  means but if you mean friends, not everyone has friends, or is confident enough to ask other mums at the school. Oh and you it's nothing to do with your age -  be kind, be helpful or if you can't, leave it to someone who can.
