New and unused ?15

Collection from SE23 Honor Oak

These door knobs have been left over from our house refurbishment and were never fitted.

They are wonderful, we just ran out of doors!! In the interest of full disclosure there are a couple of almost undetectable defects. One knobs has a small nick in the nickel coating, the other has slightly tarnished on the first rim. See photos.

We originally bought these for ?70.

These knobs will work with a Eurospec Easy-T sash lock which I am also selling. See my other listings.

Description

These Large Beehive Door Knobs are a larger version of the standard beehive door knob, although they have more of a rounded shape to them. Their larger size makes them perfect for oversized period doors and Entrance Doors.

These Large Beehive Door Knobs are made from solid brass which has then nickel plated to give a highly polished finish. The light reflects of the polished nickel to highlight the ridges in the beehive design. These door knobs more commonly found in Victorian/Edwardian period properties.

They have been made to suit both mortice or rim locks and latches, the roses are loose allowing for one to be removed and the knobs are then secured onto the threaded spindle using a ?Grub Screw?. The door knobs are ?Unsprung?, so we recommend that you use Heavy Duty / Heavy Sprung lock or latch. So that you don?t catch you hand on the doorframe we also recommend that you use a lock or latch which is at least 100mm, to give you a backset of 75mm or more.

    • Lordship Lane has two dry cleaners, three pizza places and an Italian selling pizza, two burger places, three bakeries, two hardware (ish, I'm thinking AJ Farmer here), God knows how many coffee and charity shops, two Italians, three nail salons, five wine shops... Where was the abject outrage when Dynamic Vines opened up literally next door to Cave de Bruno? But I don't see his customers decamped next door - no, those stalwarts are still out in force every night.  In Roman times all businesses were clustered by product. It's what kept prices down. Same in any market you go to abroad, they're all selling the same things next to each other.  Why is everyone being so hard on this new place? It's called healthy competition - you can't curtail the expansion of your business on the basis you that might hurt someone else's.

    • In restaurant terms I would say a chain manifests when the motivation is no longer “we are a couple/small group who have an idea and love food” who open a restaurant, them another and then a few more BUT THEN PIVOT to “we need capital to rollout out new restaurants so we have leveraged the help of the following investors”  that is the moment it stops being about the chef/food on the plate and becomes about the spreadsheet  so it is POSSIBLE  for a restaurant to have 50 branches and not be a chain - but I can’t think of any  I don’t know chango - by based on the number of outlets they appear to have just crossed/or are about to cross that line
