For D & WN, so far only Shane Collins (Green) has his posted. You can use the tool to encourage the other candidates to respond.

This is part of a national initiative by volunteers.

Two out of the four candidates have now replied.

The Green (Shane Collins) and Conservative (Kemi Adegoke) candidates have both replied by private email saying they would take part. They were sent the questions and instructions of how to register an account with the Forum. Subsequently nothing has happened.

The Chair is not a nanny, however. I will not continually remind those standing for public office to engage with their constituents.

Jonathan Mitchell, the LibDem candidate, was nearly a week late in posting his reply. However, it is possible that the original email address I tried to contact him on was incorrect. Tessa Jowell, the sitting MP and a government minister, managed to respond the day after the deadline. I think this is to be commended.

I hope now that more of the EDFs members will now comment on the candidates answers. Politicians are often derided, on both the EDF and in the mainstream media, for not being "in touch" with their electorate or not being interested in "the little man". Currently two candidates have suggested that this is not true and are willing to speak directly to their electorate via this forum. I urge you to take advantage of this.

    • It was a reactionary post and inappropriate when talking about a real case and a real person who was harmed.  London streets are generally pretty safe.  Sadly violent crime happens from time to time, as it always has.
    • Do tell, CPR Dave, what the spiteful jealous stuff is - I'm intrigued.  Agree - Burnham is a top class communicator (polar opposite of Starmer) he'd do a great job of uniting the party. I still think Wes Streeting has the edge, though I'm sure he has more enemies as well.
    • This is a huge part of the problem.   Starmer is only interested in himself, not in what is best for our country.    There's a litany of stuff he's done for spiteful jealous personal reasons which has damaged the nation enormously. Burnham would be a much better leader than of the other dross left behind when Starmer goes. To inflict a worse leader (and PM) upon us for his own selfish reasons would add to the problems and be entirely in keeping with his woeful premiership so far.
    • I heard today there was a burglary in Lacon Road yesterday evening between 20.00 - 22.00,  apparently the owners were home at the time & thieves got away with electrical items along with the owners car!  Wtf!   Anyone heard anything else?
