Hi8 and mini dv home movies - can someone convert to digital?

We have over 50 Hi8 and mini dv cassettes from defunct video camera with our home movies on, and would like to get them converted (if not too expensive). Does anyone offer this service, or ideally rent out the gadget needed to convert so we can look through them ourselves first?
