Looking for an au pair from aug/sept '16

Recommended Posts

Hi! We are a family of five, with two boys and a little girl. We are a busy family and therefore need a pair of extra helping hands and are looking for our third au pair. My husband is English and I'm German!

We are looking for a reliable, bright and independent au pair who brings along flexibility and patience and genuinely really loves spending time with children. We want you to have fun with them. You need to able to engage with them and understand their interests and have previous child care experience.

Both boys have a lot of energy, hence it would be great if you were into sports.

8-10am: You would help in the mornings by getting them ready and bring them to school or nursery. 5-7pm: Late afternoons you would collect either the boys from school or our girl from nursery, prepare dinner and play with them and help getting them bed ready. One day you would probably spend with our girl, taking her to playgroup or the library story time/singing.

The hours would be around 26-30 per week plus up to twice babysitting a week. We pay ?120 a week.

We have a cleaner, so we don't expect you to do cleaning, but would like you to tidy up the kitchen after kids mealtimes, wash their clothes, tidy their rooms and cook simple meals.

You have a lovely large room under the roof with your own bathroom, TV and DVD player. We also have WIFI throughout the house or course.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

    • Steve used to joke that my old VW Golf kept them in business. I've got a more reliable car now so maybe that's why they are closing. Sad day.
    • Is Dell Autos closing down completely or just moving? For whatever it's worth, for MOTs I've had good recent experience with The Test Centre in Deptford. They only do MOTs so they don't have any particular incentive to fail you and they usually have same day appointments. Open 7 days a week and late. https://www.thetestcentre.co.uk/our-test-centres/deptford-branch/ Obviously you would still need a "normal" garage to do servicing and repairs etc.
    • So what is the issue? You want compensation for the loss of value, or you want to expedite the matter?
    • No. What happened? I actually thought, considering it was what we used to call Guy Fawkes Day last night, the loud noises from  fireworks ended remarkably early. About 9pm? Maybe I just fell asleep and didn't hear any later ones. Do people actually burn Guys any more? Apart from at places like Lewes, where I believe they still have Bonfire Societies and burn effigies of various political figures etc.
