Genuine Art Deco club chairs x 2

Recommended Posts

Genuine Art Deco club chairs for sale. 2 available. I've had these chairs for over 20 years and reluctantly it's time to update things. No fixed price, please make a sensible offer, they are also for auction on eBay with a low start price.

They had been previously upholstered in a sage green velour, but I don't think that's the original fabric. I had loose covers made in hard wearing orange cotton, which is worn and faded now, plus it's threadbare in places, see pics, but they are washable in cold water and have stood the test of two children. One chair is in better condition than the other, but I would advise getting new covers made to make these chairs wonderful again. I have more photos, please email if interested.

They are sprung with the original springs and seats are filled with horsehair I think, but they retain their shape and are still very comfy, designed to last.

Dimensions;

Height of back 80cm,

Width 94cm

Seat height 40cm

Depth 1 metre

The chairs are extremely heavy so two people will be needed to lift them. Viewing welcome too.

From a pet and smoke free home.

    • DKH was two form entry, it is now one form entry to cope with the fact it was far more under subscribed than other schools in the area. They had actually combined year groups into single classes, 3/4 and 5/6.  When a school changes name, it’s usually because of a bad reputation perhaps the results.  The new name is dry with no history unlike its current name. It’s a very sketchy decision. It’s an expensive vanity project for someone.  What  will happen if the name change does not increase applications to the school?
    • @first mate I assume Alice made a mistake, as she removed her reaction.  I was wondering about park wardens. As I said, there was one there last night, who was incredibly helpful and proactive. As well as bringing me to the police, he caught up with a young guy on a bike who'd earlier been the victim of an attempted theft by these kids and linked him up with the police too. But I do wonder, as I've only very occasionally seen him riding around, how many they have and what hours they patrol. I've no doubt they'd be a strong deterrent if they had a better presence. They were nowhere to be seen the first time around.  Update: I've just found this: https://services.southwark.gov.uk/community-safety/community-wardens The guy in the photo at the bottom of the page was the lovely warden of last night and I've just now remembered him telling me he's based in Burgess Park. Anyway, there needs to be more of them, as I rarely see one in Peckham.
